ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Trae Young (knee) will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Young injured his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets, as a teammate fell into the side of his right leg after being pushed by a Nets player. While he did avoid an ACL injury or any significant structural damage, Young did suffer a sprained MCL and will miss at least four weeks. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has replaced him in the starting lineup and should be rostered wherever he’s available. Luke Kennard may get more opportunities to contribute off the bench, but he’s only worth targeting where there’s a need for points and three-pointers.

Trae Young (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Young will miss a second straight game since injuring his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets. The Hawks still have not provided an update on the severity of the injury or how much time Young will miss, but he won’t be available on Sunday. The game against the Cavaliers is the last of the Hawks’ current road trip, so the team may be waiting until they return to Atlanta to provide an official timeline. Nickeil Alexander-Walker will replace Young in the starting lineup and is worth adding in standard leagues.

Trae Young (knee) is out for Friday’s game against the Pacers.
Young was due to undergo an MRI on Thursday after spraining his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets, but those results have not been made public. At a minimum, he will miss Friday’s game against the Pacers, likely resulting in Nickeil Alexander-Walker moving into the starting lineup. NAW is worth adding not only for Friday, but to account for Young potentially missing multiple games. Luke Kennard and Keaton Wallace may also take on expanded roles against Indiana.

Trae Young (knee) will undergo an MRI on Thursday.
Hawks head coach Quin Snyder said after Wednesday’s win over the Nets that Young doesn’t have an issue with the ACL in his right knee, but an MRI will determine the severity of his injury. Young was injured during the second quarter when a teammate fell into the outside of his right leg. While he tried to remain in the game, Young eventually headed to the locker room and did not return. Nickeil Alexander-Walker started the third quarter and will likely move into the starting five if Young misses time. In this scenario, he and Luke Kennard are worth a look in deeper leagues.

Trae Young (knee) will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Nets.
Young exited Wednesday’s game during the second quarter when teammate Mouhamed Gueye fell into the point guard’s leg after being pushed by a Nets player who was attempting to cut during an inbounds play. While Young remained in the game, he would exit shortly thereafter and head to the locker room immediately. The Hawks’ initial diagnosis is a sprained right knee, but fantasy managers must watch for any imaging updates later in the week. Nickeil Alexander-Walker will be worth adding if Young misses time, and Keaton Wallace will enter the rotation.

Trae Young recorded a double-double on Monday with 21 points (7-of-22 FGs), three rebounds, 17 assists and one three-pointer in a 128-123 loss to the Bulls.
After recording his first double-double of the season in Atlanta’s last game, Young was finally able to have the type of performance that made fantasy managers want to draft him early. The expected inefficient shooting was there, and he only made one of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc. However, he only turned it over only once. His 17 dimes were the most that he has had in a game while turning it over one or fewer times. They’ll head to Brooklyn on Wednesday, which will be a good opportunity for Young to build on this performance.

Trae Young finished with 15 points (5-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, 10 assists, two three-pointers and five turnovers in a 117-100 loss to the Thunder on Saturday.
After averaging 11.6 assists per game last year, Young had a total of 11 assists over the Hawks’ first two games. However, he corrected the slow start in this one by recording his first double-double of the season, though he wasn’t able to get over the 20-point mark like he did in their first two games. Young has struggled to start the year, but he’ll look to get back on track in Chicago on Monday to start a four-game week.

Trae Young led the Hawks with 25 points (7-of-18 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), one rebound, six assists, two steals, one block and one three-pointer in a 111-107 win over the Magic on Friday.
It was another rough shooting night for Young, but he was able to get things going late and score 11 points in the fourth quarter to help Atlanta complete the comeback after trailing by 10 points at halftime. The assists still weren’t to the level that Young typically provides, but he only turned the ball over once, which is great for him. The Hawks close the week out against the Thunder on Saturday. Young will have to be at his best to deal with their defensive pressure.

Trae Young recorded 22 points (5-of-14 FGs, 11-of-13 FTs), one rebound, five assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s loss to the Raptors.
While Young’s final point tally was good, he shot just 1-of-9 from beyond the arc. Frequent trips to the foul line boosted the stat line, which included a lower-than-expected five assists. With the Hawks’ roster changes, there will be an acclimation period for Young and his teammates. He’ll be fine, but this is a crucial season for the point guard. Young can opt out of the final year of his contract next summer, and his fit with this roster will impact the thinking of both the player and the Hawks’ front office.

Hawks will start Trae Young, Dyson Daniels, Zaccharie Risacher, Jalen Johnson and Kristaps Porzingis against the Raptors on Wednesday.
The Hawks added Kristaps Porzingis, Nickel Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard to deepen an already strong team this offseason. Porzingis will make his Hawks debut in the starting lineup against the Raptors on Wednesday. He’ll do so along regular starters Young, Daniels, Risacher and Johnson.

The Athletic’s Fred Katz reports Trae Young and the Hawks will not agree to a contract extension before the start of the regular season.
While an unsurprising development, Young and the Hawks’ inability to agree on a new deal is notable. The four-time All-Star is entering the final guaranteed year of his current contract, as he holds a player option for the 2026-27 campaign worth $49 million. While he and the Hawks can still agree to an extension during the season, declining that option would make Young an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career next summer. Not agreeing to an extension allows both sides to evaluate Young’s fit within a roster that the Hawks revamped this past offseason by adding the likes of Kristaps Porziņģis, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard.

Trae Young led the Hawks with 29 points (9-of-22 FGs), five rebounds, 11 assists, one steal, one block and four three-pointers in a 123-114 loss to the Heat on Friday.
Trae was able to hit some big shots down the stretch of this game to make his stat line look much better after a rough start. That included a layup with 1.3 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime. However, Miami was able to heat up in overtime, and the Hawks couldn’t keep up. Trae started off this season shooting worse than usual, but he ended up shooting 41.1 percent over the course of the year. Not great, but much better than how he started. He also set a new career high for assists per game, which is something he has done every year of his career. He may not be able to top 11.6 assists per game next year, but he will continue to be an elite source of points and dimes.

Trae Young (Achilles) is available to play against the Heat on Friday.
As expected, Young will be good to go for Atlanta’s play-in matchup. Young had 28 points before being ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Magic. The Hawks will need him to be even better (and for him to be available for the whole game) if they want to advance to play the Cavaliers in the first round.

Trae Young (Achilles) is probable for Friday’s game against the Heat.
Even in the postseason, the Hawks continue to list Young as probable with an Achilles injury. The listing is performative, stemming from Young being held out of an NBA Cup game earlier this season despite not appearing on the injury report, which resulted in a $100K fine for the Hawks. With the Hawks’ season on the line Friday, expect Young to be cleared to play once again.

Trae Young was ejected from Tuesday’s Play-In tournament game against the Magic with 4:23 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Young’s frustrating night ended prematurely, as he picked up two quick technical fouls with the game out of reach. He finished with 28 points (8-of-21 FGs, 11-of-12 FTs), two rebounds, six assists, one steal and one three-pointer in 40 minutes. Young and the Hawks will look to rebound on Friday when they host the winner of Wednesday’s game between the Heat and Bulls.

Trae Young (Achilles) is available for Tuesday’s game against the Magic.
As expected, Young has been upgraded from probable to available for Tuesday’s 7/8 Play-In tournament matchup. He’ll occupy his usual role within the Hawks’ starting lineup. The winner of Tuesday’s game will face Boston in the first round, with Game 1 scheduled for Sunday. The loser will host the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between Miami and Chicago on Friday for the eighth seed in the East.

Trae Young (Achilles) is probable to play against the Magic in the Play-In Tournament on Tuesday.
Even in the postseason, Atlanta is still listing Young as probable ahead of every game. There isn’t a chance that he sits out, so expect him to occupy his typical spot in the starting unit in the 7/8 matchup, with a chance to play the Celtics in the first round on the line.

Trae Young (Achilles) is out for Sunday’s game against the Magic.
The Hawks and Magic will meet again in the play-in tournament on Tuesday, and Sunday’s result has no bearing in seeding. Young will sit out the regular-season finale, which means Keaton Wallace will move into the starting lineup and log heavy minutes. While a risky play, he’s worth slotting into lineups in active leagues.

Trae Young (Achilles) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Magic.
Young is on the Hawks’ initial injury report for the same issue as in previous games, but he’s considered questionable for Sunday instead of probable. The Hawks will visit Orlando for their play-in tournament matchup early next week, and the outcome of the regular season finale won’t change that. If Young doesn’t play, look for Keaton Wallace to log significant minutes.

Trae Young led the Hawks with 36 points (10-of-22 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), three rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and six three-pointers in a 124-110 win over the 76ers on Friday.
For the 91st time in his career, Young finished with at least 30 points and 10 assists. That puts him 14 games behind LeBron James and James Harden, who are tied for second in NBA history with 105 such games. Young is getting hot at the right time for the Hawks with the postseason approaching. Atlanta clinched the eighth seed in the East on Friday, so Young will likely sit out against the Magic on Sunday. That will give him a few days to rest before they head to Orlando for the Play-In Tournament next week.

Trae Young (Achilles) is probable for Tuesday’s game against the Magic.
Here we go again. The Hawks have again listed Young as probable; fantasy managers in active leagues should assume that he’ll play. If Young cannot play for some reason, Keaton Wallace, who is absent from the Hawks’ injury report, would get the start.

Trae Young logged 37 minutes in Sunday’s win over the Jazz, tallying 23 points (8-of-16 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, 15 assists, one steal, one block and four three-pointers.
As expected, Young took full advantage of Sunday’s matchup with the league’s worst defense. Having struggled against the Knicks on Saturday, the Hawks’ point guard recorded another points/assists double-double against the Jazz. Also, he only committed three turnovers, so fantasy managers who needed a solid outing in their championship round had to be pleased. For those whose leagues run through Week 23, Young and the Hawks play four games, starting with the Magic on Tuesday.

Trae Young (Achilles) is available for Sunday’s game against the Jazz.
As expected, Young has been upgraded from probable to available for Sunday’s game. After struggling in Saturday’s loss to the Knicks, this should be a “get right” game for Ice Trae, as the Jazz own the NBA’s worst record and defensive rating. Don’t be surprised if he records a gaudy stat line in the final game of Week 22.

Trae Young (Achilles) is probable for Sunday’s game against the Jazz.
Young fell one assist short of his eighth straight double-double in his last game and his Achilles isn’t slowing him down. Fantasy managers should expect the star point guard to be his usual self against Utah.

Trae Young finished Saturday’s loss to the Knicks with 16 points (5-of-15 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), one rebound, nine assists, one steal and three three-pointers in 32 minutes.
Young and the Hawks had a rough afternoon, trailing by as much as 34 before making things more respectable late. His streak of games with at least 12 assists ended at six, and the Hawks’ point guard also shot 33.3 percent from the field. Sunday’s game against the Jazz will be a good opportunity for Young to bounce back, as Utah has the NBA’s worst record and is ranked 30th in defensive rating.

Trae Young had 25 points (8-of-20 FGs), four rebounds, 12 assists, one steal and two three-pointers against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
Young continues to show up on injury reports with an Achilles issue, but it hasn’t impacted his play much at all. The 26-year-old point guard was hardly efficient scoring as he had 25 points on 20 shots, though he set a franchise record with at least 12 assists for the sixth game in a row. He also reached 823 assists on the season, which has him tied with Doc Rivers for the most in a season in franchise history. He’s also scored at least 25 points in seven of his last nine games. Expect Young to continue playing through his Achilles injury as if it’s not bothering him.
