It was only a two-game absence for Miller, but it was good to see him back on the floor since he has already missed so much time this season after missing most of last season. It wasn’t a spectacular first game back, but he was able to play 30 minutes in a blowout win over the Raptors. LaMelo Ball injured his ankle, and if he remains out, Miller should see a bump in usage in the coming weeks.

Salaün spent most of November in the G League but returned to the Hornets for the last three games. During that stretch, he has averaged 14.7 points and 3.0 three-pointers per game. It’s an incredible hot stretch for Salaün, which is great to see after many have already labeled the 20-year-old a bust. He’s worth keeping an eye on, even if he isn’t worth rostering in standard leagues at this point.

Against the Knicks on Wednesday, Hornets coach Charles Lee made the switch to bump Kalkbrenner to the bench and start Moussa Diabaté. That only lasted one game and was likely to have a better matchup against Karl-Anthony Towns. Kalkbrenner returned to the starting lineup for this game and played 26 minutes while Diabaté logged 16 minutes. Kalkbrenner should start most of Charlotte’s games for the rest of the season.

LaMelo just can’t seem to keep his ankles healthy. He dealt with a right ankle injury in November, and now it’s the left ankle that will keep him sidelined for at least the remainder of Friday’s showdown. Hopefully it won’t keep him sidelined long, but both KJ Simpson and Sion James should be in line for more minutes with Ball unavailable. There should be an additional update on his status at some point this weekend.

Miller’s return will unsurprisingly push Sion James back to the bench. Also, after a one-game swap, Moussa Diabaté will head back to the bench, with Kalkbrenner returning to the starting lineup, though both bigs will continue to split the minutes at center.

Miller was upgraded to probable earlier in the day after initially being listed as questionable. Now, he’s been cleared to suit up. His return should push Sion James back to the bench.

Ball has been managing a wrist injury in his non-shooting arm, but it hasn’t forced him to miss any games. He played through it on Wednesday and scored 34 points, so he should be fine for this game.

The rookie center was upgraded from questionable to available ahead of Friday’s contest against the Raptors. He has started 19 of the 20 games he’s appeared in, but came off the bench in his most recent appearance. He’s averaging 9.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game so far and should see similar production regardless of whether he comes off the bench or starts.

Mann has missed the last two games with right knee soreness. Given that he was downgraded to doubtful just hours before Friday’s game against the Raptors, that absence could extend to three games. Liam McNeeley and KJ Simpson could see extra minutes if Mann is ultimately ruled out.

It’s good news for Miller, who has missed the last two games with a left shoulder injury. The 23-year-old small forward was upgraded to probable and is now likely to return against the Raptors on Friday. Sion James will head back to the bench, though Miller could be on a minutes restriction.

Sexton suffered a left quad strain during Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks, exiting in the third quarter. Rookie Liam McNeeley’s playing time increased, but that was with Tre Mann out as well. With Mann considered questionable for Friday night, McNeeley’s bump in playing time may not be as pronounced. He’s only worth rostering in dynasty leagues currently.

Mann has missed Charlotte’s last two games with a sore right knee, freeing up additional minutes for fellow reserves Collin Sexton and Liam McNeeley. However, with Sexton already ruled out for Friday’s game, McNeeley and KJ Simpson may be the ones who benefit if Mann cannot play.

Miller has missed Charlotte’s last two games with a left shoulder injury, resulting in starts for rookie Sion James. If Miller can play against Toronto, James will be headed back to the bench. Due to his shoulder issues this season, Miller’s playing time may be limited if he can go.

Kalkbrenner injured his ankle during Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks and exited in the fourth quarter. Moussa Diabaté was the starting center in that contest, and he could retain the role on Friday, even if Kalkbrenner is available. If Kalkbrenner does not play, there may be times when the Hornets go small and give Tidjane Salaün a few more minutes off the bench, leaving Mason Plumlee out of the rotation entirely.

The good news is that Ball has been dealing with a sprained left wrist, and he’s a right-handed shooter. Plus, the probable tag suggests that he will be available on Friday. If, for some reason, Ball cannot play, Tre Mann or KJ Simpson would be the next man up, as Collin Sexton has been ruled out with a quad injury. Mann is questionable for Friday, so there’s no guarantee that he’s available.

Kalkbrenner did not start Wednesday’s game, with Moussa Diabaté (two points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes) replacing him in the starting lineup. While the rookie still played more minutes, logging 25, his night ended prematurely due to a sprained left ankle. As a result, another start could be in the cards for Diabaté. As for who would round out the rotation if Kalkbrenner misses time, Tidjane Salaün (13 points, four rebounds, one steal and three three-pointers) was the choice to replace Diabaté after he picked up two early fouls, not Kalkbrenner.

There must be something about the Knicks that doesn’t agree with Knueppel, as he has struggled from three in both meetings. After missing all seven of his attempts in a November 26 loss to New York, he made one of his six attempts on Wednesday. Fantasy managers did receive solid value in the rebound and assist categories, but the rookie’s field-goal percentage took a hit. The good news is that nights like Wednesday have not been the norm for Knueppel, who was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month at the beginning of the week.

Ball got going offensively after halftime, hitting four of his five three-pointers. The final stat line was excellent for those who have him rostered, but the questions about the Hornets’ guard’s ability to impact winning will persist. Ball is providing top-50 value in eight-cat formats, and while that doesn’t align with his Yahoo! ADP (27), ht’s closing in on that number. The Hornets will finish Week 7 with games against the Raptors and Nuggets.

Sexton injured his left thigh during the third quarter of Wednesday’s game and has since been ruled out for the rest of the night. His minutes were absorbed by rookie Liam McNeeley, who would only be worth a look in redraft leagues if the Hornets were to rule out Sexton for an extended period. Sexton finished with four points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in nine minutes.

Wednesday’s start will be the first for Diabaté since November 14, and the lineup change raises his fantasy ceiling. His promotion comes at the expense of Ryan Kalkbrenner, who will still see solid time off the bench. However, Kalkbrenner is more valuable to fantasy managers when he’s starting.

No surprise here as Ball was initially listed as probable with a wrist injury. The 24-year-old point guard is dealing with some soreness in his left wrist and wasn’t on the injury report for his ankle, which has bothered him at times this year. Ball is coming off a 12-point and 14-assist performance in Monday’s loss to the Nets.

There’s some good news on two fronts regarding Ball’s appearance on Charlotte’s most recent injury report. It’s his left (non-shooting) wrist that is currently sore, and the point guard’s ankle is not cited as a reason for the appearance, either. If Ball can’t play on Wednesday, Collin Sexton will return to the starting lineup.

Mann will miss a second straight game with a left ankle impingement. His absence should once again result in more playing time for Collin Sexton and Liam McNeeley. While McNeeley could have value later in the season, Sexton is a worthwhile option in deeper leagues currently.

Miller was held out of Monday’s loss to the Nets due to what the Hornets described as left shoulder soreness. Ahead of Wednesday, the injury is now listed as a left shoulder subluxation, which cost him 13 games earlier this season. Miller may be considered day-to-day, but fantasy managers should plan for the possibility of him being out for an extended period. Sion James should continue to start until Miller returns.

On Monday, Salaün saw his first NBA action since November 2, and he took advantage of the opportunity. The second-year forward was one of five Hornets reserves to score at least eight points on a night when three starters (Miles Bridges, Ryan Kalkbrenner and Sion James) combined to score 15. Salaün’s Monday night does not make him a player worth adding, but there may come a point later in the season when the Hornets prioritize his playing time for developmental reasons.

While Ball did not offer much scoring value, the 14 assists were a season-high. For the season, Ball is averaging 8.9 assists per game, more than a full assist more than his 2024-25 average (7.4). However, the inefficient shooting has negatively impacted Ball’s value. He’s shooting a career-low 37.8 percent from the field, and Monday’s 3-of-9 effort doesn’t help. Fantasy managers expect to take a hit in the turnover and field-goal percentage categories, but he’s been a safe bet to make at least 40 percent of his shots in the past. That has not been the case this season.

Over his last two games, Knueppel has shot 8-of-16 from beyond the arc. While fantasy managers in category leagues would like to see some defensive production from the rookie, he has been one of the most productive first-year players in the NBA this season. And over the past two weeks, Knueppel has been a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats. He continues to exceed his Yahoo! ADP (142) and has been one of the few bright spots for the Hornets this season.

With Brandon Miller sidelined due to left shoulder soreness, James will return to the starting lineup. The second-round rookie has played well, but that hasn’t led to much fantasy production. That will likely hold true in this game, especially with the rest of the starters healthy.

Mann has been a nice rotation piece for the Hornets, contributing 9.2 points per game off the bench. In his absence, Collin Sexton should be the primary guard off the bench for a Hornets team looking to put together a third straight win on Monday. Liam McNeeley may also see more minutes.
