Huerter has missed the last two games with a strained left adductor. The Pistons have leaned on Cade Cunningham, who saw his highest minute totals of the series in the last two games, without Huerter. That figures to be the case once again in Game 7 on Sunday.

Having hit three three-pointers in four of the first five games of this series, Robinson was a bit more productive in Game 6. The Pistons’ wing established new series-highs in points and three-pointers, sprinkling in some rebounds and assists for good measure. One would assume that Orlando will shoot the ball better on Sunday than they did in the second half of Game 6, as they totaled 19 points. As a result, the Pistons will need Robinson to come through with a performance similar to the one he produced on Friday.

Harris may have shot just 35 percent from the field in Game 6, but he has been a consistent offensive presence alongside Cade Cunningham in this series. Despite spraining his left ankle during Game 5, the veteran forward logged 38 minutes on Friday, and he’s scored at least 20 points in each of the last four games. Harris’ double-double was his second of the series, and the Pistons will need a similar effort in Game 7, especially if Jalen Duren (8/9/1) continues to struggle.

Despite trailing by as much as 24, Cunningham and the Pistons rallied to force a decisive Game 7 on Sunday. And as one would expect, the Pistons’ point guard was at his best when his team needed him most. Cunningham scored 19 points in the fourth quarter, which equaled Orlando’s tally for the entire second half. Over the last two games, both Pistons victories, Cunningham has totaled 77 points. Given the offensive challenges that Detroit faces, they’ll need another elite effort from their star on Sunday.

Huerter will miss a second consecutive game as he deals with a strained left adductor. His continued absence means that the Pistons will lean even more on Cade Cunningham, who logged 44 minutes in Game 5. Daniss Jenkins’ playing time only increased slightly on Wednesday, as the Pistons managed to stave off elimination.

Initially questionable after spraining his left ankle during the Pistons’ Game 5 victory on Wednesday, Harris is good to go. He’ll take on his usual role within the starting lineup and has been one of the Pistons’ most consistent players in this series. Detroit will need a similar effort from Harris if they’re to force a decisive Game 7 on Sunday.

Huerter did not play in Wednesday’s Game 5 victory, with his absence leading to a few more minutes for Daniss Jenkins. However, Jenkins did not receive too big a boost, as Cade Cunningham played 44 of a possible 48 minutes. Huerter’s return would give the Pistons another perimeter shooting option to play off of Cunningham.

Harris sprained his left ankle during Wednesday’s Game 5 victory over the Magic but remained in the game. The veteran forward has been one of Detroit’s most consistent players in this series, so not having him would make a major difference. If Harris can’t play, Javonte Green is a potential replacement in the starting lineup.

Duren’s numbers once again did not align with his regular-season production, but the Pistons got enough production from Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris to compensate. The Pistons’ center finished one rebound shy of what would have been his first double-double of the series, and he did block two shots. However, Duren attempted only six shots, and foul trouble limited him to 28 minutes. For Detroit to force a decisive Game 7, they’re going to need more from Duren in Game 6 on Friday night.

Harris has been one of Detroit’s most consistent players in their first-round series, which they now trail three games to two. The veteran forward has scored 20 points or more in three consecutive games, shooting at least 47 percent from the field in each. Harris appeared to tweak his left ankle during the third quarter after banging his back into the basket stanchion, but he never left the game. That should bode well for his availability for Friday’s Game 6 in Orlando.

With their backs against the wall going into Game 5, the Pistons needed an elite showing from their MVP candidate. While Cunningham did commit six turnovers, there’s no question that he answered the call to force a Game 6 on Friday night. The Pistons’ star did not miss from the foul line and shot over 50 percent from the field, including a lethal stepback mid-range jumper that extended Detroit’s lead to five points in the final minute. For the Pistons to force a Game 7, they’ll likely need a similar performance from Cunningham in Orlando on Friday.

Initially questionable for Game 5, Huerter is now officially out. Given Detroit’s lack of consistent perimeter shooters, Red Velvet’s absence could be more impactful than many expect, even with limited playing time. The Pistons will need their “others” on the perimeter to offer more consistent shooting to supplement Cade Cunningham.

Huerter has been dealing with a hip injury, but an adductor issue has landed him on the injury report ahead of Game 5. Huerter’s vacated minutes may largely be absorbed by Duncan Robinson, who can also provide floor spacing and knock down triples.

While Jalen Duren had been the poster boy for the Pistons’ struggles in this series, Cunningham seemed to takeover the mantle from Duren in Monday’s Game 4 loss to the Magic. The 24-year-old superstar had eight turnovers and was 7-of-23 from the field as the No. 1 seed Pistons fell behind 3-1 in the series. It was the third consecutive game where Cunningham had at least seven turnovers, tying James Harden’s playoff record. Cunningham and the Pistons will have their backs against the wall as they try to avoid elimination at home in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Huerter left Game 3 with a sore left hip after playing 15 minutes off the bench and didn’t return. He was listed as questionable for Game 4, but was ultimately ruled in. Huerter can provide outside shooting and floor spacing off the bench, particularly in minutes where starting small forward Duncan Robinson is off the floor.

Huerter played 15 minutes off the bench in Game 3, and after being considered questionable to return due to a sore left hip, he did not return. Huerter did not score in the Game 3 defeat, but he can provide perimeter shooting to a team that truly needs it for spacing.

Cunningham and the Pistons mounted a 26-10 run in the fourth quarter to take the lead by one, but they couldn’t hold it and fell to the Magic 113-105. Cunningham carried the Pistons’ offense, but also was just 3-of-10 from behind the three-point line and had nine turnovers. Detroit is hoping to avoid falling behind 3-1 in Game 4 on Monday.

Duren has scored eight, 11 and eight points in the first three games of this series. It’s the first time all season that he’s scored below 15 points in three consecutive games. Duren will have to get going if the Pistons are going to come back in this series. His next chance will come Monday in Game 4.

Harris put together another solid outing against the Magic, responding to his 17-point Game 1 with a double-double on Wednesday. The veteran forward led all players in rebounds and was the only Pistons player to record multiple blocks and steals. He’s yet to find his rhythm from beyond the arc in this series, but he’ll have an opportunity to do so in Game 3.

Duren had more of an impact in Game 2 than in Game 1, even though his counting stats didn’t change much. He scored a few more points on Wednesday and was a bit more involved on offense, both as a passer and a finisher. Yet, his numbers through two games haven’t come close to his regular-season averages. He’s struggling particularly with putting the ball in the basket, but will have a chance to find his rhythm in Game 3.

Cunningham followed an impressive 39-point outing with another stellar showing in Wednesday’s win. The former first-overall pick continued to fill it up efficiently as a scorer, but his impact as a facilitator more closely resembled his dominant ways during the regular season than in Game 1. He was the only player in Wednesday’s contest to reach double figures in assists, which, combined with his team-high in points, led to a double-double. Cunningham’s seven turnovers in this game are notable. Yet, the positives outweighed the negatives in the decisive bounce-back victory.

Relative to his regular-season production, Duren had an underwhelming performance in Sunday’s opener. He was hardly involved across his 33 minutes, taking just four total shots. The result was a single-digit scoring performance from the first-time NBA All-Star and a team worst minus-21. If the Pistons want to avoid falling two games behind in the series on Wednesday, they’ll almost certainly need more on both ends of the floor from Duren.

Harris was one of several Pistons players to struggle on the offensive end on Sunday. He was particularly inefficient from beyond the arc and had to often rely on getting to the free-throw line to produce. Still, he was productive enough to score above his regular-season average and was the only non-Cade Cunningham Piston to reach double figures in points. As one of the team’s veterans, Harris could be relied on for more offensive output in Wednesday’s Game 2.

Cunningham led all players in scoring on Sunday, nearly logging as many points as minutes played. The points came from all levels — the three-point line, midrange, and at the rim — while he also did damage at the charity stripe. Yet, the superstar point guard couldn’t manage to get his teammates going as effectively as he had done throughout the regular season, as reflected in the four total assists he generated. Nonetheless, Cunningham did a lot for the Pistons on the offensive end on Sunday, and will need his teammates to make larger contributions in Game 2. Tobias Harris was the only other Detroit player to score in double figures on Sunday.

With Duren back in the lineup after missing the regular-season finale, Detroit will have its regular starting five for Game 1 on Sunday. The Pistons posted their first 60-win season in 20 years en route to securing the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed. They will face a Magic team that is just a couple of days removed from knocking off the Charlotte Hornets in the Play-In Tournament.

The NBA ruled in favor of Cunningham and Doncic on their Extraordinary Circumstances Challenge for the 65-game award rule. Both players will now be eligible for season honors such as MVP and All-NBA teams. Doncic missed two games in December due to the birth of his child and Cunningham suffered a collapsed lung. Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards also filed a challenge, but was denied and is not eligible for awards, according to Charania.

Reed started and played 22 minutes with Jalen Duren (knee) out Sunday. The 26-year-old center had another excellent game filling in for the Pistons’ All-Star big man. Reed literally didn’t miss. His ability is an open secret, but fantasy managers will have to wait until Reed has a starting role of his own for his fantasy stock to truly ascend.

Duren is the lone Pistons regular on the injury report for Sunday’s regular-season finale, even though Detroit’s playoff seeding won’t be affected by the outcome. Isaiah Stewart is available, but most of Duren’s minutes may be absorbed by Paul Reed, as Beef Stew only recently returned from a strained calf.
