Anunoby’s 14-point first quarter helped set the tone for what would be a great performance by him, and a dominant win for the Knicks. A blowout victory limited him to just 27 minutes, but in his time on the floor, he filled it up from beyond the arc and captured his third 20-point game of the series. The veteran wing also collected five stocks in what was a fantastic defensive performance from New York. The Knicks will await the winner of the Celtics-76ers series.

Towns did a bit of everything for the Knicks in their one-sided win over the Hawks. In just 18 minutes, the veteran center posted team-highs in assists and rebounds, while his great production at the charity stripe led him to the triple-double. Like many other Knicks players, Towns’ defensive stats were also impressive; he notched four stocks on that end of the floor to help round out what was a fine overall performance. He finished the series with two triple-doubles.

Bridges was one of several Knicks players to perform well offensively on Thursday. He missed only two shots in his 27 minutes on the floor, and went perfect from beyond the arc before finishing as one of two New York players with at least 20 points. The scoring outburst was a welcome one, as Bridges had not reached double figures in points since Game 2. The Knicks will hope he can remain hot when they open up the second round against either the Celtics or the 76ers.

Robinson and Daniels got tangled up as OG Anunoby attempted a free throw during the second quarter of Thursday’s game. Shoving ensued from multiple players on each team as the situation briefly escalated. Both players were eventually ejected for their roles, leaving each team without key defenders.

The Knicks will have their do-it-all wing available for Thursday’s contest, as they attempt to close out the Hawks. Hart has played in all five games of the opening-round series, averaging 9.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He’ll likely start and play an important role on both ends of the floor.

Hart is dealing with a lower back contusion, calling into question his availability for Game 5. However, given what’s on the lineup and his importance to the Knicks, it would be shocking if Hart was not on the floor as New York looks to close out the Hawks.

Anunoby has been excellent all series, and he has made his presence felt on both ends of the floor. He has averaged 20 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.2 blocks and 2.6 triples while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor through the first five games, which includes a double-double in both Games 4 and 5. He should continue to make a massive impact in Game 6 on Thursday as the Knicks look to close out the series.

The Hawks haven’t had much of an answer for KAT during this series, but the Knicks have leaned even heavier on him over the last two games, specifically as a playmaker, which has really opened things up for New York. They’ll continue to lean on him in Game 6 on Thursday, which should lead to a lot more box score production for him, and if things go how they did in this game, that’ll be enough to close out the series.

Brunson has made some big plays in this series and has had strong stretches, but his production overall has been subpar. However, this was by far his best performance, and the Hawks simply didn’t have an answer. He dominated this game and hit multiple big shots in the fourth quarter to put this game away and give the Knicks all the momentum heading into Game 6. If Brunson is playing at this level, the Knicks will have a chance to make a deep run this postseason.

After getting little production from Hart of Mikal Bridges in Game 3 on Thursday, the Knicks received better efforts from both in Game 4. Hart finished one rebound shy of a double-double, while Bridges (eight points, two rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes) hit a couple of shots early and was nowhere near the liability that he was in Game 3. The Knicks will look to take a 3-2 series lead on Tuesday in New York.

Improved defense and a group effort on the offensive end won the day for the Knicks, helping compensate for a mediocre showing from Brunson. In addition to the low field-goal percentage, the Knicks’ point guard recorded six turnovers. In the 114-98 victory, the Knicks were at their best when more of the action ran through Karl-Anthony Towns, taking some of the pressure off of Brunson. They’ll need to do more of the same in Game 5 on Tuesday.

After scoring 29 points in Thursday’s Game 3 defeat, Anunoby came through for the Knicks with another solid showing in Game 4. His 22 points led four Knicks starters in double figures, and he finished with his first double-double of these playoffs. Anunoby has corralled at least eight rebounds in all four games of the series, which heads back to New York for Game 5 on Tuesday.

The Knicks entered Game 4 needing a win to even the series, and they took care of business impressively. Towns led the way, as a greater effort was made to get him the ball early and often. KAT finished with the first triple-double of his playoff career, and his stat line only lacked a blocked shot. Due to Atlanta’s lack of size and depth in the frontcourt, Towns has a clear advantage, but only if he and the Knicks consistently look to exploit it. Game 5 is on Tuesday in New York.

KAT was quite active throughout Thursday’s game. Offensively, he took advantage of his opportunities by making the majority of his shot attempts and finishing as one of New York’s top passers. Additionally, he cleaned up the glass phenomenally and was disruptive on the defensive end of the floor, as reflected in his four total stocks. The veteran big man was also a team-high plus-22 in his 34 minutes.

Anunoby was one of New York’s most productive players on offense in Game 3. He bounced back from a subpar Game 2 at the charity stripe by knocking down each of his attempts on Thursday, tallied as many three-pointers in Game 3 as he had over the first two games combined, and recorded at least eight rebounds for the third time in the series. Furthermore, Anunoby tied a team-high with four stocks in his 37 minutes. A similar performance from Anunoby in Game 4 on Saturday would benefit the Knicks, as they look to even up the series.

As usual, Brunson was one of the main contributors on the offensive end for the Knicks. He led the team in field-goal attempts by a large margin and finished as New York’s second leading scorer. The veteran point guard failed to convert any of his three-point attempts on Thursday and nearly had as many turnovers as assists. It wasn’t a flawless game by Brunson, but he was still effective. He can be even better on Saturday in Game 4.

Anunoby had a tough night at the foul line, and every point makes a difference in a game the Knicks lost by one point. There was an injury scare during the second half, but it appeared to be nothing more than Karl-Anthony Towns stepping on Anunoby’s left foot. After spraining his left ankle during Game 1, he played 38 minutes on Monday. He should play similar minutes in Thursday’s Game 3, with the series tied at one game apiece.

Hart has recorded double-doubles in each of the Knicks’ first two games of this postseason, while also doing an admirable job of defending Atlanta star forward Jalen Johnson. In Game 2, the Knicks forward’s stat line was missing only a blocked shot, and he shot nearly 50 percent from the field. Hart and the Knicks will look to regain the momentum when the series shifts to Atlanta for Game 3 on Thursday.

Despite shooting nearly 67 percent from the field, Towns only attempted 12 shots in Game 2. That’s one less than his total in Game 1, but that 25-point effort was supplemented by a 10-of-10 night at the foul line. Towns did not attempt a free throw on Monday, and the Knicks need to do a better job of ensuring that he’s getting his touches. Atlanta does not have the size to deal with Towns, especially with Jock Landale (ankle) unavailable, but that doesn’t matter if the Knicks don’t look to exploit the advantage.

Brunson may have scored 29 points, but the Hawks made him work for every one. The Knicks’ guard needed 26 field-goal attempts, and he shot 6-of-16 from inside the arc. No other Knick attempted more than 12 shots, something that cannot happen if New York is to play deep into the postseason. Now with the series tied at one game apiece, the scene shifts to Atlanta for Game 3 on Thursday.

Anunoby sprained his left ankle during the third quarter of Saturday’s series-opening win over the Hawks. The good news was that the Knicks’ wing returned to the game after a brief period on the bench, and Anunoby participated fully in Sunday’s practice. According to Knicks head coach Mike Brown, Anunoby is “good to go” for Game 2. If there are any issues, Landry Shamet and Miles McBride are potential replacements in the starting lineup.

Hart did a little bit of everything in Game 1, with his stat line only lacking a three-pointer and a blocked shot. The Knicks’ wing exercised discretion as a scorer and was most effective as a rebounder. All 14 of Hart’s rebounds came on the defensive end, helping to eliminate second-chance opportunities for the Hawks. Add in the assists and steals, and this was a fine start to the series for Hart.

Anunoby had an injury scare during the third quarter of Saturday’s series opener, as he sprained his left ankle on a drive to the basket. While the Knicks forward exited the game immediately, he wasn’t on the bench for long before returning. Anunoby played 38 minutes, and the Knicks will likely need him to take on a similar workload in Game 2 on Monday. If Anunoby is limited or can’t play, Mikal Bridges (11/2/1/1 with one three-pointer) will have to bring more to the table offensively.

Towns started slowly on Saturday, attempting two shots during the first half. The 7-footer was far more impactful after halftime, helping the Knicks push their lead to as much as 18 before holding on. As was the case during the regular season, the Knicks need to keep Towns engaged offensively to reach their full potential. Backup Mitchell Robinson (three points, four rebounds, one assist and two blocks) played 15 minutes off the bench, and there was just one short segment in which he and Towns were on the floor together.

Brunson shot 6-of-18 from inside the arc in Game 1, but an efficient 3-of-4 day from three helped compensate for those struggles. Between Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, the Hawks have two perimeter defenders capable of making things difficult for Brunson. However, he still managed to finish Game 1 with 28 points, and the seven assists were countered by just two turnovers. The Knicks will look to take a 2-0 series lead on Monday night.

Anunoby sprained his left ankle during the Knicks’ April 10 win over the Raptors, sitting out the regular-season finale against the Hornets two days later. He’s good to go for Saturday’s series opener, and the Knicks will have a clean injury report as Tyler Kolek is also available.

Having fallen out of the Knicks’ rotation recently, Alvarado started Sunday’s regular-season finale and logged 34 minutes. Acquired from the Pelicans at a time when the Knicks were shorthanded on the perimeter, his opportunities may be limited during the playoffs. That said, Alvarado does not need much time to be a nuisance on the defensive end of the floor, so there may still be a role for him in the Knicks’ first-round series against the Hawks.

Among the players expected to be in the Knicks’ postseason rotation, McBride was one of the few to play credible minutes on Sunday. And to the delight of head coach Mike Brown and his staff, Deuce looked sharp in his 24 minutes on the court. Given the amount of time he missed following sports hernia surgery, that’s more important than the stat line that he recorded. The Knicks will face the Hawks in the first round, which begins next weekend.

Shamet has been added to the lengthy list of Knicks players who won’t play in a game that won’t affect the team’s playoff seeding. His absence frees up playing time for Mohamed Diawara and Pacôme Dadiet, with the former offering a higher ceiling for those in active fantasy leagues.
