Wells smacked a run-scoring double into left field off of Robbie Ray in the second inning that pulled the Yankees to within four runs at 5-1. His production at the plate has slowed considerably since the first two games of the season, as Wells is hitting just .205/.289/.462 to go with a pair of home runs and six RBI.

Fried did his part in striking out nine today, but he had no margin for error with the Yankees getting blanked by the Red Sox. It’s the 13th time in his last 14 starts that Fried has allowed two runs or fewer. He’ll face the Orioles on Friday.

Judge had four three-strikeout games this season before these last two series against the Red Sox. He fanned three times once last weekend in Yankee Stadium and did so in all three games in Boston this this weekend. His average is down to .378, which is still incredible but is his lowest mark since Apr. 15.

Stanton has wrapped up a minor league rehab assignment and will make his long-awaited season debut early this upcoming week at Yankee Stadium against Los Angeles. The 35-year-old veteran slugger’s over-the-fence pop makes him a potential cheap power source in deeper mixed leagues.

The one real unknown in this mega deal is Jose Bello. The 20-year-old right-hander was signed out of the Dominican Republic and has spent the past three seasons pitching in the lowest levels of the minor leagues. He has registered a 2.00 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and a 28/3 K/BB ratio over 18 innings for the Giants’ affiliate in the Arizona Complex League this season. He’s a very intriguing young arm but a long way from potentially helping out at the major league level.

It’s kind of eerie how all of Herrera’s best offensive games come when he’s catching. His previous homer came Monday, which was also the last game he had caught. In between, he was limited to four singles in 20 at-bats as a DH. He’s currently batting .377 with six homers in 12 games as a catcher, compared to .284 with two homers in 27 games as a DH.

Fulford had quite a day at the plate. He had a sacrifice fly in the third inning, a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning and a three-run triple in the eighth inning. Fulford doesn’t have much fantasy value as the Rockies’ backup catcher, but it was still an impressive performance.
