Schneider noted that Roden would have been available off of the Jays’ bench in an emergency situation on Thursday. It sounds like he should be ready to return to action on Friday, though his viability for fantasy purposes may be going away soon with Daulton Varsho nearing a return from the injured list.

Roden was set to start in left with Myles Straw (ankle) unavailable, but his own trouble will keep him out of Thursday’s lineup. Will Robertson will instead get the start and hit eighth against Ryne Nelson and the Diamondbacks’ bullpen.

The bad news is Straw will be out for another game after being removed Tuesday with his ankle injury. The good news is that Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters that Straw’s injury isn’t likely to necessitate a trip to the injured list. He’ll take a seat with Jonatan Clase (knee) back in the lineup in center and Alan Roden playing left field.

The double probably would have been caught by a better center fielder than Billy Cook and certainly should have been a single at worst, but it got past Cook’s dive and cleared the bases. It gave Greene his fourth four-RBI game of the year. He had just three of those total in his previous three seasons.

Lux took Chris Paddack deep in the third inning with a runner on to cut the Twins’ lead to 7-4. The 27-year-old has provided some value with his .275 average and .365 on-base percentage, but that’s just his third homer of 2025 in 218 at-bats. Hopefully the ball starts traveling over the fence more often off the bat of Lux in the summer months. It should considering his home park.

Wilson, 30, has been ineffective off the bench, and the Phillies will send the outfielder down to Lehigh Valley while replacing him with Buddy Kennedy. Assuming Wilson gets back on track in the minors, he should rejoin Philadelphia; albeit in a role that offers no fantasy upside.
