The Jays needed to clear a spot in their bullpen for the return of Nick Sandlin and Briuhl was the odd man out this time around. The 27-year-old southpaw has pitched very well in two appearances with the Jays, firing 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball with a 0.75 WHIP and a 4/1 K/BB ratio. He should get another opportunity with the big league club in relatively short order.

Robertson had been up with the big league club for a couple of days to provide depth while Nathan Lukes (concussion) was shelved, but now he’ll return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level. The 27-year-old is 1-for-10 (.100) with an RBI and a 7/1 K/BB ratio in his limited action with the Jays this season.

The 30-year-old outfielder has cleared the concussion protocol and is ready to return to a reserve role on the Jays’ bench. Will Robertson, who had been up from Triple-A Buffalo to add depth while Lukes was sidelined, was optioned back in a corresponding move on Friday.
