Moore had quite the night at home against the Red Sox. With the Angels down 1-0 in the eighth inning, he took Greg Weissert deep for a game-tying solo homer. Down by one again in the bottom of the tenth, he went yard again for a walk-off, two-run blast off Justin Wilson. The 22-year-old second baseman certainly has excellent power upside if he can overcome some swing-and-miss issues.

Neto stayed in initially after getting hurt, but he left the game after airmailing a throw afterwards. He’s optimistic he’ll be OK, but he wants tests for reassurance. If Neto needs an IL stint, Kyren Paris could take over as the Angels’ primary shortstop.

Neto appeared to be in some discomfort after sailing a throw to first base to start the ninth inning. He would leave to the clubhouse with a trainer. We await official word on his status as he’s evaluated.

Castro, who has missed three starts with a sore right wrist, pinch-hit for Kody Clemens in the sixth and stayed in to play second base afterwards. It’s possible he’ll be back in the starting lineup against George Kirby on Wednesday.

Hoerner led off the third inning with a single off of Michael McGreevy and scored on Kyle Tucker’s two-run single. The 28-year-old infielder then launched his first home run of the season — a 364-foot (97.0 mph EV) two-run shot off of Steven Matz in the sixth inning — which pulled the Cubs to within a run at 8-7. That would be as close as they would get. With his three-hit attack, Hoerner is now slashing .294/.335/.370 with the aforementioned one long ball, 33 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
