The move comes a day after Povich pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings and got a win as a bulk guy. The Orioles could turn to Trevor Rogers in his place, though Rogers, who had a great outing in a spot start last month, has resumed struggling for the most part in Triple-A. Brandon Young is still on the rehab trail, so he’s not an option just yet.

Moncada has performed well when he’s been able to take the field this season, hitting .237/.336/.505 in 30 games. If this calms down quickly, he could return in 10 days. Until then, the Angels figure to use Luis Rengifo at third and go with Scott Kingery and Kevin Newman at second. Kingery is starting tonight.
