Bellinger will get a breather for the middle game of a three-game set against Boston. Jasson Dominguez will hit seventh and play left field in Bellinger’s absence.

He is human, afterall. Judge struck out twice against Hunter Dobbins in his second consecutive three-strikeout evening. It’s disappointing, but considering the 33-year-old saw his numbers ‘drop’ to .384/.479/.767, it’d be pretty foolish to complain for too long.

Rodón was better than his previous outing against Boston when he gave up five runs in as many innings, but there were still shaky moments from the southpaw. He walked a pair against his four strikeouts, and he was pulled in the sixth after throwing 92 pitches — 59 of those for strikes. It wasn’t a disastrous outing for Rodón, but another disappointing one just based on expectations set in the 2025 campaign. He’ll still take a strong 3.01 ERA into a scheduled start against the Angels on Thursday.

Gil resumed throwing at the end of May, but the right-hander still needs to build up arm strength and will need multiple bullpens/rehab starts before joining the New York rotation. Whenever he makes his first start, it’ll be his first outing of 2025 because of his lat strain.

Anthony isn’t in a rather strange Red Sox lineup tonight; Wilyer Abreu is sitting for a third straight game, this time against a right-hander. It suggests he’s either banged up or maybe in line for a demotion, though that would be surprising. The Red Sox have Ceddanne Rafaela in right field and Kristian Campbell in center tonight.

MassLive’s Chris Cotillo whispered it first, and it was soon confirmed by Worcester reporter Katie Morrison-O’Day, who caught Anthony leaving the ballpark. Anthony, who is worth grabbing in all formats, should be available off the bench.

That’s how you give the WooSox faithful at Polar Park something to remember for years to come. The legend continues to grow as Anthony’s latest gargantuan blast to right-center field carried a stratospheric 115.6 mph exit velocity. It’s the longest home run tracked by Statcast at any level in baseball this season, per MLB.com’s Allison Mast. It was also his 10th round-tripper of the year. It’s mystifying what the Red Sox are doing at this juncture since Anthony is certainly capable of providing an offensive spark, even in his first exposure to the big leagues. There’s been zero indication that a call-up is imminent, but fantasy managers should anticipate Anthony arriving at Fenway Park at some point soon. There’s nothing left for him to prove in the minors.
