The 29-year-old outfielder is expected to need a week’s worth of games before he’s ready to rejoin the Blue Jays, which means that he would miss the first series coming out of the All-Star break. If he looks sharp through Thursday though, don’t be surprised if the Jays opt to bring him back right away. He has been sidelined since the end of May due to a left hamstring strain.

The good news is that Hoffman didn’t blow a save nor did he take a loss. The bad news is everything else. He gave up a solo homer, uncorked a wild pitch with a runner on third, and gave up an RBI single to see his ERA rise to a very unhealthy 5.3. Hoffman should remain the closer and had looked fine as of late prior to this outing, but there’s a little more volatility here than some other fantasy stoppers.

It took until the weekend before the All-Star break, but Scherzer finally has his first win as a member of the Blue Jays. He blanked the A’s for the first five innings, but he gave up a three-spot in the sixth to turn a very impressive outing into one that still counts as a quality start. Scherzer will take a 4.70 ERA and 24/7 K/BB over 23 innings into the second half.

The 26-year-old outfielder attempted to give it a go, but felt ill once again on Friday evening so the Jays made the wise decision to pull him from the lineup. Myles Straw will start in his place in left field and will bat ninth for the Blue Jays against Luis Severino and the Athletics on Friday evening in West Sacramento.

Wetherholt — who was promoted to Triple-A Memphis earlier this week — headlines a senior circuit lineup that includes rising fantasy sensation Konnor Griffin, who has emerged as arguably the top prospect in the entire dynasty landscape during his professional debut. It also features Dodgers burgeoning sluggers Zyhir Hope and Josue De Paula in addition to Brewers phenom Jesús Made, who has cemented his status as a top-10 dynasty prospect in the game. Here’s the full lineup: Wetherholt (DH), Griffin (SS), Owen Caissie (RF), Charlie Condon (1B), Hope (CF), Made (2B), De Paula (LF), LuJames Groover (3B), Joe Mack (C) and JR Ritchie (P).

Rafaela has been bumped up to the prime spot in Boston’s lineup as his multi-week hot streak shows zero signs of slowing down. The toolsy 24-year-old former top prospect has always flashes an impressive power/speed combo, but he’s made a legitimate leap in recent weeks, thanks to a newfound emphasis on lifting the ball. He’s batting .331 (47-for-142) with 11 homers, 27 RBI and five steals over 39 games since May 27. There’s enough evidence and sustained success to suggest that this hot streak isn’t a complete mirage.
