Baldwin shellacked a homer with a pair of runners on in the first inning to give Atlanta a 4-0 lead. The rookie backstop has a dozen homers over 62 games with a very solid .278/.353/.489 slash. This version is awfully good, but it’s reasonable to think that Baldwin can be even better.

Herget was booted from the 40-man roster to make room for Joey Wentz after Wentz was claimed off waivers from Minnesota. Herget could see interest on the waiver wire for those in need of bullpen arms, but it’s just as likely he heads back to Triple-A after going unclaimed.

Wentz rejoins his first organization and will have a chance to help the Atlanta bullpen; something he didn’t do for both Pittsburgh and Minnesota in his time with both organizations. The 27-year-old doesn’t offer any fantasy upside/appeal.

Albies connected on his seventh homer of the season and gave Atlanta a 4-3 lead with that roundtripper. The 28-year-old has started to make more hard contact, but he’s been one of the bigger fantasy disappointments of 2025 with a slash of .221/.292/.320.

The 29-year-old backstop got the Orioles on the board with an RBI double off of Brandon Waddell in the second inning. He then rode home on Jordan Westburg’s two-run blast. Jackson also started a rally with a leadoff double off of Justin Hagenman in the sixth inning and scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Westburg. It was an impressive showing from the veteran backstop in his first game with the Orioles this season.

It sounds like the hard-hitting 25-year-old backstop will remain there at least through the weekend and be ready to join the Cardinals coming out of next week’s All-Star break. Herrera was given a timeline of two-to-six weeks when he landed on the injured list on June 20, so it seems like that timetable tracks. His return will likely push Pedro Pages back into a reserve role while costing Yohel Pozo his spot on the active roster.

Rutschman has been able to play catch and due some running and has played catch, but hasn’t progressed further than that. The 27-year-old will assuredly be back through the All-Star break, and then there’s a chance — but no guarantee — he could be back behind the plate by the end of July.
