De La Cruz came up a double shy of hitting for the cycle on Monday night as he capped off an impressive three-hit effort with an opposite-field solo shot — his 18th round-tripper of the season — against Yankees lefty reliever Tim Hill in the eighth inning. He put Cincinnati on the scoreboard with a run-scoring triple to center field in the fourth inning before picking up an additional RBI in the ensuing frame with a bases-loaded single to shallow right field. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar is in the midst of one of the best stretches of his career, hitting .309 (21-for-68) with six homers, 12 RBI and four steals in 20 games since June 1.

After just 13 starts and 66 innings in the minors to open his career, Burns, the second-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, will make his major league debut against the Yankees on Tuesday night. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect arrives having posted a microscopic 1.77 ERA and 89/13 K/BB across three minor league levels this season.

With Jeimer Candelario no longer in the Reds organization, there is one fewer corner infield bat to compete for playing time with, but Marte will still have to fight for playing time with Santiago Espinal, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, and Gavin Lux. That makes it hard to stash him in fantasy leagues until we know what kind of role he’s returning to.

Neto’s other two hits were singles, but he drove in his first run of the game when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded off Walker Buehler. The 24-year-old now has a dozen homers on the season, and his steal gives him 13. Those are solid numbers, but even more impressive when you consider that he missed close to 20 games to begin the year. Neto was not viewed as a potential fantasy star when he was drafted by Los Angeles. There’s significantly more upside in his bat than anticipated.

Story took Ryan Zeferjahn deep to tie the game at 5-5 in the sixth inning. That’s Story’s fourth homer in June, and 11th overall in 2025. Even with the home run and a single, he’s still slashing a less-than-desirable .235/.277/.371 in 2025 over 294 at-bats.

Correa went back-to-back with Trevor Larnach in the sixth inning to get the Twins to within five runs at 7-2. It’s just the sixth homer of the season for the 30-year-old shortstop, and he’s still slugging just .392 after the roundtripper. Correa has been known to go on power streaks, so perhaps this will be the start of one. It’s hard to count on at this point, however.
