Wilson returns to Cleveland’s bench mix prior to Sunday’s game against Detroit with Lane Thomas hitting the injured list with plantar fasciitis. The 26-year-old infielder got into 24 games earlier this season for the Guardians. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

Kwan started the scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Guardians ahead 1-0. His other RBI came on a sacrifice fly with the Guardians trailing 7-1 in extra-innings. Kwan struggled for most of June, but has his average up to .298 with 28 RBI on the year.

Clase entered the game with a 1-0 lead in the ninth inning. The 27-year-old right-hander hit Spencer Torkelson to start the inning. Two batters later, with pinch runner Zack McKinstry on third base and two outs, Clase threw a wild pitch that allowed McKinstry to score and tie the game. The Tigers would go on to win in extra innings. It was a crushing loss for the Guardians, who might listen on trade offers for Clase ahead of the trade deadline. He’s been good enough over the past few seasons that Clase would likely remain in the closer’s role on a potential new team.

Williams gave up one hit, walked three and struck out eight. The 25-year-old right-hander was excellent against the Tigers Sunday. Williams got into a jam in the fifth inning as he allowed three consecutive baserunners with two outs before striking out Colt Keith to end the inning. He has a 3.61 ERA and 90/52 K/BB ratio in 92 1/3 innings this year. Williams is lined up to face the White Sox on the road next weekend.

No surprise here after Arenado was scratched from Saturday’s lineup with a right shoulder impingement. The 34-year-old defensive wizard will undergo further evaluation on Sunday to determine the severity of the issue, but there’s optimism from the club that he’ll avoid a trip to the injured list. It’ll be rookie Thomas Saggese drawing another start at the hot corner in his place. There should be a definitive update on his outlook at some point leading into Tuesday’s series opener against the Nationals.

Williamson smashed a double to right-center with two outs to score Jorge Polanco and give Seattle a 1-0 lead. It’d be the last run for either team. Williamson has helped the Mariners immensely with the glove and his .256 average isn’t horrible, but there’s just no power in his bat as seen in his .318 slugging percentage.
