The 26-year-old is hitting .280/.382/.544 in 53 games at Triple-A this season with 12 home runs, 48 RBI, six steals, and a 63/28 K/BB ratio. With Tommy Pham’s name swirling in trade rumors, it’s possible that Suwinski gets another shot at the MLB level this summer.

Heaney’s velocity has been down all year, but at least he’s been consistent; he’d averaged in between 89.8 and 90.5 mph with his fastball every start until tonight, when he was down to 89.5 mph despite not pitching very deep into the game. His slider was actually down 1.8 mph from his season average. It seems like bad news for a pitcher the Pirates are certainly planning to trade later this month. Heaney dropped to 4-8 with a 4.41 ERA. He’ll likely face the Twins on Sunday.

Cruz heads to the bench after making eight consecutive starts in center field for Pittsburgh since June 28. Alexander Canario will patrol center field on Monday night in Kansas City. The 26-year-old power/speed combo threat has gone hitless in four of his last five games and hasn’t batted higher than fifth since June 25. His fantasy stock is clearly trending in the wrong direction, but it’s not out of the question that he uses the upcoming All-Star break to make adjustments and turn his season around.

It’s Trammell’s only hit in 15 at-bats since joining the Astros. He now had 16 career major league homers in 377 plate appearances since debuting with the Mariners in 2021. Unfortunately, those have come with a .163 average and a 36.8% strikeout rate.

Loperfido’s .278/.354/.422 line in Triple-A was pretty uninspiring, but he did seem to be heating up just before the promotion Sunday, and now he’s 3-for-7 with a homer for the Jays after going deep just six times in 315 plate appearances for Buffalo. He’ll probably play regularly through the All-Star break, but he could be replaced by Daulton Varsho afterwards. The Jays also hope to have Anthony Santander back at some point.

It doesn’t come as a total surprise to see Duran on the bench against Rockies lefty Austin Gomber, especially given Ceddanne Rafaela’s remarkable turnaround at the plate in recent weeks. It’ll be lefty-masher Rob Refsnyder getting the nod in left field with Wilyer Abreu in the opposite corner and Roman Anthony at DH on Monday night at Fenway Park. Unheralded utility specialist Nate Eaton gets his third straight start in the leadoff spot with Marcelo Mayer on the bench for the third consecutive contest.
