Ortiz didn’t really stand out in a 17-7 game, but any production here has to be cherished. It’s his first three-RBI game and second three-hit and three-run scored game of the year. With five hits the last two days, he has his average over the Mendoza Line for the first time since mid-April.

Mitchell was in the final stages of his rehabilitation process from an oblique strain. Murphy added that the 26-year-old outfielder will be pulled off his rehab assignment to undergo additional imaging after initial results were inconclusive. There’s a significant level of concern here since he underwent left shoulder surgery back in 2023. There should be an update on his status at some point in the coming days.

The eighth RBI came off Jonah Bride in the ninth, but it counts. Yelich, whose second three-run double barely missed leaving the park, is just the third player since at least 1901 to knock in eight runs without homering, joining Bill Keister in 1901 and Gave Cravath in 1915. He’s the only one to do it without scoring a run. Yelich’s previous career high for RBI was seven from his three-homer game in 2019.

He struck out six. It was unclear whether Misiorowski would come back out for the seventh at 80 pitches, particularly after a long top of the inning in which the Brewers scored five runs. He did return, but not for long. Misiorowski walked Byron Buxton on four pitches to start the frame and then gave up a homer to Matt Wallner. In spite of the sour ending, it was a remarkable outing for Misiorowski, who had pitched 11 hitless innings as a big leaguer before the homer. He hit 100 mph on 29 of his 41 fastballs, topping out at 102.1 mph. If left on four days’ rest, he’ll make his next start Wednesday against the Pirates. However, it seems more likely that he’ll face the Rockies at home on Friday.

Bichette was the only Blue Jay who came to hit in this one as they were shutout until the eighth inning. He had their only extra-base hit and only run batted in with his run-scoring double in that eighth inning. It’s been a great bounce-back season for Bichette with 10 home runs, four stolen bases, and a .762 OPS.

The double was hit 113.3 mph, which is a new high EV for him in tracked games. It also was the high mark for all Triple-A hitters Thursday. Lawlar is batting .286/.408/.603 with four homers and five steals in 15 games since the Diamondbacks returned him to Triple-A.

The Pirates scored four runs off of Brant Hurter in the top half of the 10th inning on Thursday, the final two coming on a two-out, two-run knock by Kiner-Falefa that seemingly put the game out of reach. With his two-hit attack, the 30-year-old infielder is now hitting .288/.333/.358 with one homer, 17 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.
