Ramírez was plunked in the fourth inning by Kevin Gausman and he wasn’t able to continue. The good news is that the third baseman has already undergone imaging, and X-rays returned negative. Consider Ramírez day-to-day, but there’s a good chance he’s back in the lineup this weekend.

All three runs scored in a third inning that opened with a soft flyball single and featured two HBPs, three Kyle Manzardo errors and a wild pitch. Outside of that inning, Bibee allowed just one hit and no walks. Bibee fell to 1-6 over his last nine starts, even though he has a 3.49 ERA and a 54/10 K/BB over that span. He’s set to face the Cubs next.

And that’s why he usually DHs. All three errors came in the third. First, he mishandled a sac bunt attempt, allowing the batter to reach. He then got a double-error after dropping a pickoff attempt at first and making a wild throw home that Bo Naylor didn’t even know was coming. Manzardo finished 1-for-3 at the plate, leaving him 6-for-17 with a homer over his last five games. He’ll almost surely DH tomorrow against Sonny Gray and the Cardinals.

Santana had a terrific final two weeks of May, but that’s really the only thing keeping his stat line afloat. He’s come in at .169/.220/.260 with an unusually poor 20/5 K/BB ratio in 82 plate appearances this month. He had a 37/30 K/BB in 220 plate appearances over the first two months.

Vientos has missed the majority of June with his hamstring strain, but the 25-year-old is ready to roll after completing his rehab assignment. He should hit near the middle of the Mets’ lineup. It’s likely Ronny Mauricio will be optioned back to Syracuse to make room for Vientos on the active roster.

The two-run single on an infield popup was entirely a product of a storm that led to a rain delay immediately after dropping next to a bewildered Michael Toglia. The slam then came an inning afterwards off Tyler Kinley. Muncy has 13 RBI in three games, taking his season total from 38 to 51. It might be more of a case of taking advantage of bad pitching than a sudden resurgence, but no one here is complaining.

The homer was Jung’s first since May 16. He was hitting .291/.326/.507 at the conclusion of that game, but he’d come in at just .189/.250/.221 in 32 games since. Statcast thinks he’s been rather unlucky, but his exit velocity numbers aren’t nearly as good now as in his impressive rookie campaign two years ago. He needs to step it up in the second half to ensure that he remains the Rangers’ third baseman for 2026 and beyond.
