Not good. We’re hesitant to speculate here, but it’s a really ominous development that Scherzer is still experiencing soreness in his right thumb after receiving a cortisone injection and taking some time off to rest and recover. The 40-year-old future Hall of Famer will be re-evaluated by doctors in the coming days and remains without a return timetable. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back anytime soon.

Clement drew the start at shortstop on Sunday with Bo Bichette as the DH. The 29-year-old third baseman hit .306/.349/.469 in May and is off to a .340/.353/.500 start in June. Clement’s fantasy utility is strictly limited to AL-Only leagues and deeper mixed formats due to his lack of power. He’s hitting .292 with a .742 OPS on the year.

Berrios gave up nine hits, walked one and struck out five. Even without Bryce Harper, the Phillies’ lineup is a difficult matchup for opposing pitchers. Berrios hadn’t allowed more than three runs in five consecutive starts entering Sunday, but was hit hard. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 3.81 ERA and 76/33 K/BB ratio in 87 1/3 innings this year. He’s set to face the White Sox at home in a much easier matchup next weekend.

Guerrero knocked a base hit in the third inning, then drove in one of Toronto’s two runs with a double in the fifth. He delivered two of the Blue Jays five hits as the lineup was quieted by Cristopher Sánchez. The 26-year-old first baseman is slashing .278/.380/.421 with eight homers, 41 runs scored, and 31 RBI across 305 plate appearances.
