Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Kodai Senga (hamstring) will likely make his next start in the majors.

Senga is on track to rejoin New York’s rotation sometime later next week, possibly Friday or Saturday, against the Royals. The 32-year-old threw 68 pitches on Saturday in his latest minor league rehab start for Double-A Binghamton.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Jesse Winker (oblique) could be activated for Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles.

Winker will get in one final minor league rehab contest on Sunday before returning to New York for Tuesday’s game at Camden Yards. The 31-year-old veteran DH has been out since early May recovering from a right oblique strain.

Chris Devenski will start Sunday’s game against the Yankees for the Mets.

It’ll be a bullpen day for the Mets as they look to get innings from a starting staff that has been decimated by injuries. He’ll likely go an inning or two before giving way to another arm, so there’ll be no chance for Devenski to pick up a win.

Pete Alonso homered twice to drive in five runs Saturday as the Mets doubled up the Yankees 12-6.

Alonso had a two-run homer off Carlos Rodón in the fifth and then a three-run shot off Jayvien Sandridge that pretty much put the game away in the seventh. It’s his 24th career two-homer game and 12th with five RBI. He’s back up third in the majors with 73 RBI; both he and Eugenio Suárez are two behind Seiya Suzuki and one back of Cal Raleigh.
