Harris sits for the second straight game with Stuart Fairchild getting the nod in center field on Tuesday night out in Sacramento. The 24-year-old’s ongoing struggles have continued in recent weeks as he’s hitting .122 (6-for-49) with zero homers and two steals over his last 15 games. He hasn’t homered since June 13. It’s not what you want to see.

Wiles will take Didier Fuentes’ spot on the active roster after posting a 3.33 ERA and 78/24 K/BB ratio in 81 innings (15 starts) at Triple-A. He threw one inning of relief for Atlanta earlier in the season, but they could certainly use him in the rotation now after injuries to Chris Sale and Spencer Schwellenbach. We’ll see if Wiles can stick in the rotation after the All-Star break.

This seemed like a given after Fuentes had another rough start on Tuesday and raised his MLB ERA to 13.85 in 13 innings across four starts. The Braves thrust Fuentes into the rotation after an injury to Chris Sale, but even with a spot in the rotation still up for grabs, the team decided it was best for the 20-year-old to head back to the minors for more seasoning.

The Guardians hit Astros’ ace Hunter Brown hard in this one, storming out to a 6-1 advantage through their first four innings. They gave that lead away though by the ninth and went to extra innings with the score tied at 6-6. That’s where Martinez victimized Astros’ closer Josh Hader for his 334-foot go-ahead blast that put the Guardians on top to stay. Martinez finished the night 1-for-4 plus a walk and is now hitting .238/.264/.371 with six homers and 30 RBI on the season.

There’s little incentive for the Diamondbacks to take any chances with next week’s extended All-Star break on the horizon. It’ll be Jake McCarthy taking over in center field and Randal Grichuk entering the lineup at DH on Tuesday night against the Padres.
