He’ll add some depth and versatility to the Rangers’ bench with Wyatt Langford (oblique) landing on the injured list on Friday. Helman has hit .225/.290/.396 with six homers and 26 RBI in 207 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season.

Seager tied the score at 1-1 with a solo homer off Logan Gilbert in the first. He’s now gone deep eight times, and it’s worth noting that homer total comes in just 50 games. Seager’s overall slash of .242/.336/.403 does leave something to be desired, but the 31-year-old is just too good of hitter to have a slash that low for much longer. Assuming he can stay healthy, of course.

Eovaldi was making his first start since late May, and it showed. He didn’t have close to his best command, and honestly was fortunate to just give up the three runs. It’s a disappointing result, but it’s hard to be too concerned given how good he was prior to the injury and the circumstances. Eovaldi will get another crack at it Wednesday against the Orioles.

The 27-year-old southpaw underwent the internal brace procedure instead of the traditional Tommy John surgery, which should shave a couple of months off of the timeline for his return. He’ll obviously miss the remainder of the 2025 season but the Rangers expect that Bradford will pitch at some point in 2026.

Buxton has been eliminated from the fan vote, but it’d be nuts if he’s not an All-Star for the second time next month. He’s up to 19 homers and 51 RBI, which are both tied for the second-highest totals of his career; he had 28 homers in 92 games in 2022 and 56 RBI in 102 games last season. He also stole his 15th base today, which stands alone as his second-highest total behind the 29 he had in his one relatively full season in 2017. He’s currently third in the AL and seventh in the majors with a .927 OPS.

The Phillies are starting a tough left-hander in Jesus Luzardo on Saturday night, so it makes sense why the Braves would want to get Harris a breather. The 24-year-old outfielder has been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball this season, slashing a dreadful .212/.238/.320 with six homers, 43 RBI, 11 stolen bases and a 68/10 K/BB ratio over his first 326 plate appearances. Eli White will man center field in his absence on Saturday.

A second opinion on Friday confirmed that surgery would be required to repair the issue. The Brewers are optimistic that he’ll still be able to return at some point before the 2025 season comes to a close, but a clear timeline won’t be known until after he undergoes the procedure.
