The 30-year-old slugger hit the open market at the end of June when he was released by the Mariners. Tellez hit just .208/.249/.434 with 11 homers in 185 plate appearances for the M’s. He’ll add depth for the Rangers, but his days of fantasy relevancy appear to be in the rearview mirror.

Semien started the scoring with a two-run double in the third inning. Those would be the only runs the Rangers scored as they ultimately lost in extra-innings to the Padres 3-2. Semien is just one of many Rangers having a down offensive season. The 34-year-old infielder is hitting .238 with a .683 OPS and 42 RBI on the year.

Rocker gave up four hits, walked two and struck out four. With the Rangers leading 2-1 in the sixth inning, Fernando Tatis Jr. tripled to right field on a fly ball that Adolis Garcia certainly could’ve caught. Two batters later, Rocker was out of the game. The Padres were able to tie the game there and eventually win in extra-innings. Rocker has a 41/14 K/BB ratio in 45 innings. His 3.91 xFIP is well below his 5.80 ERA. Rocker will face the Angels on the road next week.

Busch has seven hits, including four homers, the last two days. His homer today was the first by a lefty off Matthew Liberatore this season. Busch is typically platooned with Justin Turner, and he came into the day just 6-for-43 against lefties this season, but yesterday’s massive game kept him in the lineup for this one. He’s up to sixth in the majors with a .939 OPS, and it’s going to be very difficult to keep him off the NL All-Star team,

The entire city of Toronto, and fantasy managers too, can exhale after Guerrero sat out Friday’s game after fouling a ball off his foot. The 26-year-old fantasy stalwart, who is back at DH and batting third on Saturday afternoon at the Rogers Centre, was named the starting first baseman for the American League in the upcoming All-Star Game earlier this week and will head to the Midsummer Classic for the fifth straight season.
