Joe, who was out with hand, foot and mouth disease, will probably see some time in right field against lefties, though he’s been a liability in that role so far. He’s hit .207/.273/.276 in 66 plate appearances this season.

It’s an extremely encouraging sign that Greene is throwing after undergoing additional testing earlier this week after experiencing renewed groin discomfort. The hard-throwing 25-year-old fantasy ace was scheduled to make a minor league rehab start this week, but that’s no longer happening. There should be some clarity on his status at some point soon, but fantasy managers should view it as a positive development that he’s throwing again without an extended shutdown.

Fraley was found to have a tear in his right shoulder, but since it’s not his throwing shoulder, he thinks he can play through it and have surgery after the season. He’ll probably be activated as soon as Thursday or Friday, which could lead to a demotion for Connor Joe or Christian Encarnacion-Strand.

Singer managed to keep the ball in the yard at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, holding Miami off the scoreboard until the fifth inning when rookie backstop Agustín Ramírez scalded a run-scoring double to right field and Liam Hicks followed with a go-ahead RBI single. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.32 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 83/39 K/BB ratio across 93 2/3 innings (18 starts) into his final first-half start on Saturday against the Rockies at home.

The move makes room for Jesse Winker. Marte will be eligible to return as soon as play resumes after the break. Until then, Ronny Mauricio could take over his starts against left-handers.

In a battle of players who don’t capitalize the first letters of their last names, d’Arnaud took Jacob deGrom deep in the second inning to give the Angels a 3-2 lead. He also doubled in a run in the sixth to tie the game at 4-4. The first season with the Halos for d’Arnaud has been a mixed bag at best, as he’s slashing .220/.268/.394 with five homers and 15 RBI.
