Pretty good baseball player, that Ronald Acuña Jr. Acuña hit a leadoff homer off Mitch Spence, one of a whopping five homers that Spence would allow to the Atlanta lineup. He took Spence deep again for his 11th homer of the season, and it’s worth remembering that number has come in just 41 games. Acuña has been sensational — sensational seems like an understatement — and as long as he’s healthy enough to take the field on a consistent basis, he’s a good bet to be as terrific as any fantasy option in the sport.

Herget was booted from the 40-man roster to make room for Joey Wentz after Wentz was claimed off waivers from Minnesota. Herget could see interest on the waiver wire for those in need of bullpen arms, but it’s just as likely he heads back to Triple-A after going unclaimed.

Wentz rejoins his first organization and will have a chance to help the Atlanta bullpen; something he didn’t do for both Pittsburgh and Minnesota in his time with both organizations. The 27-year-old doesn’t offer any fantasy upside/appeal.

Albies connected on his seventh homer of the season and gave Atlanta a 4-3 lead with that roundtripper. The 28-year-old has started to make more hard contact, but he’s been one of the bigger fantasy disappointments of 2025 with a slash of .221/.292/.320.

Nothing has changed in the prognosis for the 25-year-old slugger, this was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for the addition of Brice Matthews on Friday. Dezenzo is currently pain free as he continues to recover from a capsule sprain in his left hand. He has yet to resume hitting yet and will require a minor league rehab assignment once he’s ready for live action. He now won’t be eligible to rejoin the Astros until early August.

Anthony will get the first game of the series against Tampa Bay off even with right-hander Drew Rasmussen on the mound. He’ll sit with Wilyer Abreu playing right field and and Masataka Yoshida the designated hitter.
