Frelick provided a valuable insurance run with a 391-foot (99.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Kirby Yates that increased the Brewers’ advantage to 3-1. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but played a key role in the victory. On the season, the 25-year-old outfielder is now hitting .293/.350/.408 with seven long balls, 37 RBI and 15 swipes on the season.

Misiorowski heads to Truist Park in Atlanta for the Midsummer Classic after just five starts in the majors. It’s the quickest-ever All-Star appearance breaking the mark set by Paul Skenes last year when he got the nod after 11 starts in the big leagues. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect — who is coming off a 12-strikeout gem earlier this week against the Dodgers — has performed like a future ace, recording a sparkling 2.81 ERA and 33/11 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings during that span. He’s certainly talented enough to warrant a spot, but his inclusion highlights the fact that very few starters seem to actually want to show up and pitch in the game itself. He’ll take over Cubs lefty Matthew Boyd’s spot on the National League’s roster.

Vaughn’s home run was his seventh of the year and second with the Brewers. The 27-year-old first baseman hit a solo shot off Luis Garcia in the seventh inning. Vaughn is still competing with Jake Bauers for at-bats while Rhys Hoskins is on the injured list, making him a fringe option at best in fantasy leagues.

Jones smacked a two-out triple off of Jonathan Cannon in the eighth inning but wound up stranded there. He then led off the seventh inning with a single and scored the go-ahead run on an RBI double off the bat of Angel Martinez. With his two-hit effort, Jones is now hitting .233/.320/.338 with just three homers, 23 RBI and six stolen bases on the season.

Even with the Guardians facing a right-handed pitcher, Jones will head to the bench with Angel Martinez playing center field and Lane Thomas shifting over to right field. Jones’ swing decisions and contact metrics look good, but he’s hitting just .238/.340/.357 in 18 games in June with one home run and one steal. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Jones had been relegated to a strong-side platoon earlier in the season, but he has now started back-to-back games against left-handed starting pitchers and five of the last seven. Over his last 23 games, Jones is hitting .300 with 10 RBI, four runs scored and a 13/1 K/BB ratio. While the batting average is nice, and the playing time is there, it would be good to see a bit more power out of Jones before we start to think about rostering him in most fantasy leagues.
