Rea gave up 11 hits, walked one and struck out two. The 34-year-old right-hander allowed three runs in the first two innings before settling into the game. It wasn’t one of those starts where the pitcher just has nothing from the first inning, but when Rea was removed in the sixth inning the Mariners had put seven runs on the board. Seattle wasn’t finished as they piled on for a total of 14 runs on the day. Rea’s ERA is up to 4.42 on the year. He’s lined up to face the Astros on the road next weekend.

Raleigh’s home run was his 31st of the year, which leads all of baseball. He hit a two-run shot off Colin Rea in the first inning. Raleigh hit four home runs in the series with the Cubs and has five home runs in his last five games. He looks like he might threaten Aaron Judge’s American League record 62 home runs that was set in 2022. Raleigh is hitting .276 with a 1.042 OPS and 66 RBI this season.

It’s official. Ohtani will take the ball for his second start on Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. He’ll likely only work an inning or two to kick off the contest since he’s continuing to build up his arm strength and pitch count on the fly. There’s very limited fantasy appeal at this point, but it’s undoubtedly extremely exciting to see him pitching in the big leagues again.
