It’s the third consecutive game that Estrada has missed since exiting Tuesday’s game with a right wrist contusion. It still sounds like they’re taking things day-to-day, but if he doesn’t start to show significant improvement soon, a backdated stint on the injured list could be in order. Orlando Arcia will once again take his place at second base and will bat eighth for the Rockies against Zac Gallen and the Diamondbacks on Friday night.

Dollander managed only two strikeouts today. His 19% strikeout rate as a major leaguer is a little disappointing, though he figures to do better with more experience. He wasn’t involved in the decision today, so he’s still 2-7 with a 6.19 ERA. He’ll next pitch at home against the Dodgers.

Trying to close out a one-run lead, Halvorsen gave up a two-out homer to James Wood. The first run, courtesy of the automatic runner, was unearned. Halvorsen was pitching for the second straight day and third time in four days, so he’ll be down Friday. Tyler Kinley or Jake Bird could get a save chance then.

Estrada has now missed two straight games since being removed from the game on Tuesday. While the Rockies are referring to him as “day-to-day,” they also admit that he was unable to grip a bat on Tuesday, so there will remain some mild concern until we see Estrada back on the field. Orlando Arcia will start at second base and bat eighth on Thursday.

While he’ll also see action at second base and in center field, it sounds like the Red Sox want him to become an actual option at first base before he rejoins the big league roster. He also has to get his offensive game back on track as the 22-year-old was slashing an atrocious .159/.243/.222 since the calendar flipped to May.

Baty missed each of the team’s last three games due to a groin injury. He’ll start at the hot corner and bat eighth against Phillies’ ace right-hander Zack Wheeler on Friday evening in Philadelphia. Baty returns to a .219/.267/.419 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 173 plate appearances.

As expected, Campbell is down after scuffling mightily since the start of May. The 22-year-old will get a chance to work on some things in Triple-A, and he’ll be replaced on the active roster by Wilyer Abreu with Abreu coming off the injured list as the corresponding transaction.
