The 25-year-old infielder has missed each of the team’s last two games due to a groin injury. He’ll be put through a battery of drills before Thursday’s game which will determine whether or not he’ll be available off of the Mets’ bench. Fortunately, it sounds like he has turned a corner in his recovery and will not require a trip to the injured list.

The 32-year-old right-hander has been absolutely obliterated on his minor league rehab assignment, giving up eight home runs in just 18 2/3 innings of work, but the Mets are hopeful that he’ll be able to put that behind him and turn the page when he’s back in the big leagues. It goes without saying that fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach before trying to rush Montas back into their lineups.

Well, the Mets ran into the buzz-saw that is Chris Sale in this game. Marte was the only player with multiple hits while he and Brandon Nimmo were the only to reach base twice. No one in their lineup had an extra-base hit. In a season that began with him struggling to find playing time and seeming over the hill, Marte now has a .750 OPS and regularly hits in the two-hole when the Mets face a left-handed pitcher.

Things looked like they’d get ugly for Blackburn after Ronald Acuña Jr. launched a 419 foot home run on the first pitch of this game. It still wasn’t good, but also not totally catastrophic. The Braves scratched across three more against him first on the strangest play you’ll ever see – catcher Luis Torrens illegally touched the ball with his mask which automatically let every runner move up a base – then on a sacrifice fly and pass ball. The Mets’ rotation is quite turbulent at the moment with recent injuries to Kodai Senga and Tylor Megill with Frankie Montas’ imminent return. It’s unknown whether Blackburn’s next appearance will be as a starter or a reliever.

Torres had one of the Tigers’ four sac flies today. He’s hitting .281/.380/.424 this season, and he seems like a strong candidate to make the AL All-Star team after a long absence. He was picked for the Midsummer Classic in each of his first two seasons in 2018 and ’19, but he hasn’t gone to one since.

Semien’s run-scoring double off Royals veteran starter Michael Wacha represented the lone extra-base hit for Texas in a low-scoring affair at Globe Life Field. The 34-year-old second baseman has shaken off a glacial start to the season at the dish, hitting .304 (31-for-102) with four homers, 14 RBI and five steals over his last 30 games.

As Passan notes, Campbell has struggled mightily since the start of May with a slash of .159/.243/.222 in that timeframe. The 22-year-old offers considerable offensive upside and Boston obviously isn’t giving up on a player they signed to a $60 million contract extension, but fantasy managers should be looking for upgrades if they haven’t already. A corresponding move should be announced shortly.
