The versatile 28-year-old will return to the Tigers’ starting lineup on Saturday where he’ll start in center field and bat seventh against Twins’ right-hander Bailey Ober. Trey Sweeney was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move on Saturday.

We figured McKinstry’s .627 OPS in May would be more representative of the rest of his season than his .888 mark from April, but he’s bounced back nicely this month, coming in at .938 so far. He also has seven steals after collecting only three over the first two months. His exit velocity numbers don’t entirely back up his success so far, but to date, he’s been one of the two best position players on one of baseball’s two best teams.

Byron Buxton’s two-run homer in the third was the only damage. Ryan Jeffers almost had a solo shot an inning earlier, but Kerry Carpenter made a leaping catch at the wall. Mize struck out five in spite of having only eight whiffs and a 21% CSW. He still hasn’t allowed more than four runs in a start this season, and he’s given up three earned only three times in 14 starts. He’ll probably make his next start Friday in Cleveland.

He also robbed what might have been a homer in the second inning, yet the Tigers still pinch-hit for him against a lefty with an 8-4 in the eighth. Carpenter has been pretty quiet since his three-homer game against the White Sox on June 2, going 10-for-59 with two homers and a 17/0 K/BB ratio. He’s never been much for walks, but his 60/7 K/BB in 277 plate appearances this season is atrocious. He finished at 75/22 in 296 plate appearances last year.

Mastrobuoni slashed an opposite-field single to score Randy Arozarena to give the Mariners a 7-6 lead and ultimately a win. The 29-year-old also made a spectacular catch in the bottom of the 11th to keep the game going. Mastrobuoni has been a big help for the Mariners’ bench in 2025, but that help doesn’t carry any kind of fantasy significance.

No word yet on how much time Joe is going to wind up missing. The 32-year-old veteran has occupied a bench role this season for Cincinnati and can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

The 27-year-old outfielder has appeared in five games for the Halos this season, hitting .200 (2-for-10) with zero RBI, one run scored, one stolen base and a 2/2 K/BB ratio. He’ll add depth in the Angels’ outfield while Jorge Soler (back) is shelved.
