The 26-year-old slugger opened the scoring in Tuesday’s game with an RBI double off of Brandon Pfaadt in the home half of the first inning. He then demolished a first-pitch fastball for a 448-foot (112.1 mph EV) solo shot in the third inning that extended the Jays’ lead to 2-0. Guerrero also added a run-scoring single off of Ryan Thompson that pulled the Jays to within a run at 4-3. With his three-hit attack, he’s now slashing .281/.380/.434 with nine long balls and 34 RBI.

The Blue Jays will play short-handed with Straw and Jonatan Clase (knee) also out of the lineup. Straw’s ankle sprain will keep him out of action after leaving Tuesday’s game, and George Springer will get a start in the outfield in his absence.

The Jays entered the ninth inning trailing 4-3 when Bo Bichette crushed a one-out, game-tying solo shot off of Shelby Miller. Barger then followed with a 408-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot that walked it off for the Blue Jays. The versatile 25-year-old finished the evening 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and is now hitting .264/.322/.497 with eight homers, 23 RBI and one stolen base through his first 177 plate appearances on the season.

Encarnacion-Strand takes a seat with righty Bailey Ober on the hill for Minnesota as he’s gone into a slide at the dish over the past week, going 3-for-25 with nine strikeouts, following a stretch where he homered in three consecutive contests after coming back from the injured list. It’ll be veteran infielder Santiago Espinal at the hot corner on Wednesday night in his place.

Feinsand acknowledges that Arizona is still in the playoff hunt, but with Corbin Burnes and Justin Martinez out for the season, it may be hard for them to remain in the mix. With so many teams looking for an impact corner infield bat, Arizona could get a nice return by trading away Naylor, who will be a free agent at the end of the season.
