Yankees OF prospect Spencer Jones went 2-for-3 with two walks, a home run, and two runs scored for Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has gotten off to a strong start at Triple-A, going 6-for-16 with three home runs and three RBI. He also has seven strikeouts in four games and remains a major swing-and-miss risk after posting an 18.5 percent swinging strike rate at Double-A as a 24-year-old. With no obvious spot in the outfield, you wonder if the Yankees would use this hot streak by Jones to try and move him at the deadline for an infield bat that could help the Yankees this season.

Trent Grisham (hamstring) returned to the Yankees’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s showdown against the Blue Jays.

The 28-year-old outfielder sat the previous two contests after exiting Monday’s game with tightness in his left hamstring. He’s back in his familiar spot at the top of the Yankees’ lineup and will man center field for the Bombers against Chris Bassitt and the Blue Jays.

Austin Wells (finger) returned to the Yankees’ starting lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Blue Jays.

The 25-year-old backstop had missed each of the team’s previous four games due to artery damage in his left index finger that had been giving him an intermittent cold sensation and discoloration. He’s behind the dish and batting eighth against Chris Bassitt and company on Thursday evening in Toronto.

    Recap

Will Warren was lit up for eight runs in four innings by the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

The Jays had seven runs before Warren got his second out in the first inning, so it’s really rather impressive that he got through four like he did. He didn’t have much luck early, either; while he did give up two homers, he also surrendered four singles on non-hard-hit balls in the first. A nine-pitch walk to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was awfully rough, too. Warren has been good enough recently that it’s worth sticking with him for his upcoming matchup against the Mariners.
