The 25-year-old backstop had missed each of the team’s previous four games due to artery damage in his left index finger that had been giving him an intermittent cold sensation and discoloration. He’s behind the dish and batting eighth against Chris Bassitt and company on Thursday evening in Toronto.

The 30-year-old infielder opted out of his minor league deal with the Diamondbacks a few days ago in search of greener pastures. He has appeared in 18 games at the big league level this season, slashing a dreadful .042/.179/.042 with zero homers, one RBI and a 4/4 K/BB ratio in 28 plate appearances between the Cubs and Angels. He’ll add infield depth for the Bombers.

The 28-year-old outfielder sat the previous two contests after exiting Monday’s game with tightness in his left hamstring. He’s back in his familiar spot at the top of the Yankees’ lineup and will man center field for the Bombers against Chris Bassitt and the Blue Jays.

The 24-year-old has gotten off to a strong start at Triple-A, going 6-for-16 with three home runs and three RBI. He also has seven strikeouts in four games and remains a major swing-and-miss risk after posting an 18.5 percent swinging strike rate at Double-A as a 24-year-old. With no obvious spot in the outfield, you wonder if the Yankees would use this hot streak by Jones to try and move him at the deadline for an infield bat that could help the Yankees this season.

Alvarez went 3-for-4 with that home run in the first game of the doubleheader, which made it three games in a row with a home run since Alvarez was sent down to Triple-A. If he can keep showing that pullside power as well as improved defensive performance during his stint in the minors, Alvarez could be back up with the Mets in July.

Realmuto found some good spots today, getting his hits on outfield flies with xBAs if .350, .300 and .370. Still, he deserves some luck, considering he entered with a .355 slugging percentage versus a .404 xSLG. His exit velocity numbers are about the same as usual, but his now .365 slugging percentage is more than 60 points lower than his worst season mark (.428) from the last nine years.
