Schlitter struck out nine while walking one and allowing just two hits. The 6'6" righty has been lights out in his four starts at Triple-A, posting a 1.69 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 33/8 K/BB ratio in 21 1/3 innings. There’s a chance the 24-year-old could push for innings with the Yankees at some point over the summer.

Besides for Elly De La Cruz, practically no Reds got even close to squaring Fried up. The only run he gave up came after a single from De La Cruz where he advanced on a ground out and then scored on an error. Otherwise, just one other Red reached second base – Santiago Espinal, who was picked-off there by Fried – and they had just three measly hard-hit balls in total. He now has an incredible 1.92 ERA on the season and has been one of the most effective pitchers in the whole league. He’s scheduled for a two-start week coming up against the Blue Jays and Mets with both starts on the road.

This was a huge game for Domínguez. He reached base in three separate innings where the Yankees scored and notched three hard-hit balls in total. Playing time could get scarce between the Yankees corner outfield, first base, and designated hitter options with Giancarlo Stanton back in the fold, so this big game by Domínguez feels even better given the context.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters they’re being cautious with Schmidt and will give him some extra rest before his next start. The decision bumps former prospect Will Warren up to Friday’s series opener at Yankee Stadium. It doesn’t sound like Schmidt is in danger of landing on the injured list, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status. He tossed seven hitless innings over the weekend against the Orioles in his previous start.

Lukes poked a two-run single in the third to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead, and that was all the offense Kevin Gausman was going to need Thursday. The 30-year-old outfielder has been much more valuable to Toronto than fantasy managers, as he’s still slashing .259/.354/.357 with that single and a walk. The world needs fourth outfielders, too.

Springer is on a five-game hitting streak, going 9-for-19 over that stretch, so he’s just getting a routine day off. Bo Bichette will slide to the designated hitter role with Ernie Clement at shortstop, Addison Barger at third base, and Jonatan Clase starting in left field.

Hitters get hot all the time. Not many hitters have ever gotten as hot as Soto has this month. He has 10 home runs and a .315/.485/.685 slash line through 23 games in June. Even more impressively, this multi-homer game was the 27th of Soto’s career. With it, he passed the legendary Jimmie Foxx for the most multi-home run games before turning 27 years old. Despite a “cold” start to the season, Soto now leads the Mets with 19 home runs and has an .898 OPS. In case there was any question about it, he’s back to being one of the few best hitters in the entire sport.
