Wells suited up for the first time since a scary fall resulted in a fractured wrist and ended Wells’ successful rookie year a few games early. He started most of his rookie season, so it isn’t surprising that he was able to have a strong Summer League performance, even if it wasn’t his best shooting night. Wells will have a strong case to start for Memphis again next season, even after they added Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Ty Jerome and Cedric Coward this summer.

Small was selected with the 48th pick this summer and was able to provide some dimes in his first taste of Summer League action. However, with Ja Morant, Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr. in front of him in the rotation, it is unlikely that Small is in the rotation next season. Still, it is good to see him play well.

Two days after Landale was waived to make room for Clint Capela, he finds himself in a potentially rewarding situation in Memphis. Jaren Jackson Jr. (toe) is expected to be sidelined for most of the summer, which could delay his availability to start the year, while Zach Edey (ankle) is expected to miss the start of next season. Memphis also just sent Jay Huff to Indiana, so Landale could play a significant role early on. However, that statistical success will likely be short-lived.

The 12-week timeframe puts the next significant JJJ update no earlier than September 24, which means he may be ready for the start of the regular season. If Jackson Jr. is forced to miss time into October, Santi Aldama could see a major boost in usage and fantasy value. Zach Edey (ankle) is already set to miss the beginning of the season, leaving Memphis’ frontcourt rotation potentially thin to kick off the 2025-26 campaign.

Ingram did not see any action after halftime for the second straight game. On Saturday, Spurs summer league coach Mike Noyes said that the second-year forward tweaked his groin, hence the minutes limit. Ingram played 14 of a possible 20 first-half minutes before being shut down for the remainder of the game. While the previous experience should mean Ingram will be one of San Antonio’s leading options this summer, the minutes limit may minimize his impact.

Roddy started last season with Atlanta before ending the year on a two-way with Houston. It’s unclear if he’ll remain with the Hawks, but he certainly won’t be a large part of the team’s rotation.
