Bears hired former Saints head coach Dennis Allen as their defensive coordinator.

Allen held the same role with the Saints from 2015-2021 before taking over as the Saints’ head coach in 2022. Allen has always been a defensive tactician, holding various coaching roles on that side of the ball since his college coaching days at Tulsa in 2000. Though Allen’s head coaching stint with the Saints ended poorly, he brings experience and respected defensive smarts to new Bears head coach Ben Johnson’s staff.
