Falcons rookie QB Michael Penix Jr. was seen warming up pre-game while the team released its inactives list, which includes starting QB Kirk Cousins.

The team has yet to actually announce a starter for today’s game but with Penix officially sitting in the depth chart‘s No. 2 QB spot, it is safe to assume viewers will get their first look at Penix as a pro. Penix’s expected snap count is unknown at this time but it stands to reason the front office will aim to justify its selection of a backup quarterback with the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft. An extended showing is possible.
