Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Adam Schein’s Sirius XM radio show he hopes Matthew Stafford continues playing for the Rams for “a couple more years.”

The Rams allowed Stafford, who turned 37 back in February, to explore trade options this offseason, but the two parties ultimately settled on a “year-to-year” contract solution moving forward. After working through the contract-related unpleasantness, McVay declares he and Stafford are “closer than ever.” It’s no secret that the Rams recently acquired a second 2026 first-round pick and will likely try to draft their quarterback of the future next year.
