49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk was not at practice Wednesday amidst contract dispute.

This one is a big split in the road as the veteran wide receiver recently passed a physical, now making him eligible to be fined for missed practices. We are just 12 days from the 49ers’ season opener on Monday Night Football in Week 1 and Aiyuk has yet to participate in any team activities as he seeks a new contract. With the team entering its preparation stage for their Week 1 opponent, we could see subsequent news of a team-imposed fine in short order. Contract and trade discussions have appeared to fade over the previous week leading to roster cuts but Aiyuk remains on the team’s 53-man regular season roster.
