Brock Purdy

Brock Purdy completed 25-of-36 passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns in the 49ers’ 23-20, Week 10 win over the Bucs, adding four carries for 17 yards.

With Christian McCaffrey making his season debut, Purdy actually managed a new season high for passing yards. That included 6/68 to the man himself. Purdy also had to keep throwing because fellow returnee K Jake Moody missed not one, not two, but three field goal attempts. It helped that the Bucs have one of the softest pass defenses in the league. Purdy found yet another returnee Jauan Jennings for several long gains and Ricky Pearsall for a 46-yard YAC job score. Purdy wasn’t perfect — he was probably lucky to escape without a turnover — but he was gutsy, as usual, as the Niners eked out a badly needed road victory. The Seahawks are another soft matchup for San Fran’s Week 11 return home.
