Chiefs are re-signing RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire to a one-year contract.

Initially drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2020 draft, Edwards-Helaire has become a backup for the team. While starting the first two seasons of his career, he lost the starting job during the 2022 season to Isiah Pacheco. Edwards-Helaire saw 70 carries for 223 yards and a touchdown last season, adding 17 receptions for 188 yards. The Chiefs now re-sign him as familiar depth for the backfield, though he remains off the fantasy radar.
