David Njoku (ankle) returned to practice on Friday.

We’ll have a better sense of Njoku’s Week 9 availability when the team releases its final injury report in a few hours. The veteran tight end was a surprise DNP on Thursday after being added to the team’s injury report, but a Friday return is a good sign. If he’s available to go, Njoku would be a solid TE1 option against the Chargers in an offense that looked much better in Week 8 with Ken Dorsey calling the plays and Jameis Winston under center.
