FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports the Cowboys briefly “looked into” a trade for Ravens WR Rashod Bateman before acquiring WR George Pickens from the Steelers.

Schultz adds that the trade talks with the Ravens “didn’t go far.” The report primarily lets us know that the Cowboys viewed their lack of a downfield, perimeter receiver as a role that needed to be addressed before the 2025 season kicks off. While Bateman and Pickens play differently, they both serve to help keep safeties honest, which should, in turn, make life easier on CeeDee Lamb.
