Drew Lock

Drew Lock

NYGQB • #2

Giants agreed to terms with QB Drew Lock, formerly of the Seahawks, on a one-year contract.

Lock was sent to the Seahawks in the 2022 trade that sent Russell Wilson to Denver. The former second-round pick has spent most of his career as a backup and threw for just 543-2-2 in two starts for the Hawks last season. He’ll join the Giants as the backup to Daniel Jones, who is already in what feels like another “prove-it” year after signing a four-year, $160 million contract with the team last offseason. Lock may be the only quarterback the Giants pursue in free agency, but it still wouldn’t be surprising to see them acquire one early in next month’s draft. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Lock will receive $5 million in guaranteed money on this contract.
