Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts

PHLQB • #1

Jalen Hurts completed 16-of-25 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 20-16, Week 6 win over the Browns, adding 14 carries for 33 yards.

Taking advantage of the returns of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Hurts had his first multi-score passing effort since the Eagles’ opener in Brazil. That, of course, was also the last time Brown took the field. Smith missed Week 4 before the Eagles’ bye. Hurts found Brown for a 22-yard touchdown and game-clinching 40-yard heave in tight coverage. He found Smith for a 45-yard score on a crossing route where Smith did most of the work after the catch. It was what we needed to see from Hurts through the air in a tough matchup, though he remained non-explosive on the ground. He has averaged more than 3.1 yards per carry just one time all season. The Giants could go either way as a Week 7 matchup.
