Jonnu Smith

Jonnu Smith

MIATE • #9

Jonnu Smith caught 6-of-7 targets for 53 yards in the Dolphins’ Week 2 loss to the Bills.

Four days after catching one ball on two looks, Smith tied De’Von Achane for the team lead in targets. It was a function of the Dolphins being afraid to throw down the field vs. the Bills’ two-high safety looks. It was also accelerated after Tua Tagovailoa departed with a third quarter concussion. With Tagovailoa likely looking at a lengthy absence, Smith is probably going to have more check-down/YAC upside than he did before. He’s worth keeping around as a TE2 streamer option ahead of Week 3 vs. the Seahawks.
