NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Chargers OT Rashawn Slater suffered a strained pectoral muscle in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Steelers.

Slater was one of two Chargers tackles to exit Sunday’s contest against the Steelers, as rookie Joe Alt was revealed to have suffered a sprained MCL that will sideline him for some time. Slater will also likely miss some playing time, meaning Justin Herbert (ankle) — or whatever quarterback draws the start in Week 4 against the Chiefs — will likely be without their two bookend tackles. We’ll likely get more clarity on Slater’s injury and its severity in the coming days, but it’s a brutal blow to an already banged-up Chargers team looking to build on its 2-1 start to the season.
