Patrick Mahomes
KCC • QB • #15
Patrick Mahomes completed 19-of-38 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 21-7, Week 15 win over the Browns before departing early with a right ankle injury.
Mahomes got twisted up at the mid-way point of the fourth quarter. Limping badly, he made his way to the sideline before getting re-taped. With the game essentially over against the non-competitive Browns, however, Kansas City let Carson Wentz finish the proceedings. Mahomes finished the contest standing under his own power on the sideline. It certainly seems like he would have checked back in were it a playoff game, but it wasn’t and he didn’t. It is worth noting he was spotted heading to the X-ray room afterward. With the Chiefs playing on short rest next Saturday before a Christmas Day date the following Wednesday, Mahomes could get some time off if the Bills lose to the Lions Sunday, sealing the AFC’s top seed for Kansas City. Stay tuned.
