Russell Wilson told reporters Thursday that he’s “getting closer” to returning to the field.

“I think I’m getting closer and closer,” Wilson said. I’m just trying to be smart. Got to do a lot of work today on the field and everything else, throwing and all that, so just trying to be smart.” The veteran signal-caller has been limited in practices, and while it hasn’t been decided — and may not until Sunday — if he’ll play in Week 2 against the Broncos, all signs point to Justin Fields getting the nod at this point.
