Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce

KCCTE • #87

Travis Kelce said “I still got a lot of football left in me” when asked about the possibility of retiring.

Kelce is 35 and coming off a season in which he posted the lowest YPR (8.5) of his career while also finishing with a career-low 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His 1.43 YPRR and 3.5 YAC/REC were also new lows. His 131 targets were on par with his career average, but it didn’t always feel that way. With his decline appearing obvious, there’s no denying that his 97-823-3 line is still a step above what an average tight end would produce in a given season. Kelce’s contract will expire at the end of the the 2025 campaign. Whether or not his tone changes after Sunday’s game against the Eagles is to be determined, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Kelce returned next season and gave more serious thoughts to retiring after his contract has expired.
