Lloyd was one of the Panthers’ premier free agent additions this offseason, and he’s already proven to be worth the investment. Lloyd terrorized the Falcons in Week 2 with a sack and two interceptions, one of which was a pick-six. Fellow free agent acquisition Jaelan Phillips was also absent from practice today. He is dealing with a back injury. Though the Browns aren’t a particularly good offense right now, it would still be a massive boon for them if Lloyd and Phillips are out for Week 3.
The Panthers are giving Lloyd $25 million guaranteed in the deal. Lloyd has been starting in the middle of the Jaguars’ defense since getting drafted in the first round four years ago. He tallied five interceptions, including a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown, en route to a Pro Bowl selection and second-team All Pro honors last season. PFF graded the 27-year-old with an 89.1 overall grade for 2025, good for No. 3 among linebackers. The Panthers add an all-round starter for $15 million per year in Lloyd.

The linebacker had four interceptions in six games before missing most of the last month with a calf injury, he’s up to hunt another from Davis Mills. Inactive for the Jaguars are: CB Jourdan Lewis (neck), WR Brian Thomas Jr (ankle), RB Cody Schrader,, OL Ezra Cleveland (knee/ankle), TE Hunter Long (hip/knee) and DL Austin Johnson. All players with injuries were ruled out on Friday, the other two are healthy scratches.
Lloyd returned to practice last week and was listed as questionable on Friday. He only practiced in a limited capacity, however, and the Jags ultimately ruled him out on Sunday. A full practice today means he should be good to go for Week 10. Lloyd had four interceptions, one of which was a pick-six, before going down in Week 6. His return will be a big boost for a Jags defense facing off against Davis Mills.
Lloyd had a chance to return to action this week after being listed as questionable on Friday. He was limited in practice throughout the week. Holding him out for one more game should ensure Lloyd doesn’t re-aggravate the issue. He will eye a Week 10 return against the Texans.

No surprises here as Lloyd and Morris were the only players with injury statuses heading into this game. Both players were ruled out on Friday and did not travel to London. Lloyd has been a star for the Jags this year with four interceptions and one pick-six. His loss will free up space for the Rams to work over the middle of the field.
Both players will not travel to London after being ruled out, with Lloyd’s absence creating a substantial hole to fill in the defensive interior for the Jaguars. Ventrell Miller was tasked with additional snaps following Lloyd’s departure in Week 6 and stands as the likeliest player to step into the vacated role.
The option would have guaranteed Lloyd $14.751 million for the 2026 season. Lloyd, who was the 27th overall pick in 2022, has started 46 of 48 games with the Jaguars since his arrival. In 2024, Lloyd had 113 tackles, two sacks, an interception and a forced fumble. According to PFF, Lloyd has been the Jaguars’ highest-graded linebacker over the past two seasons. Lloyd will become a free agent next offseason.
